-Alexandra House has been set up by the owner Lynda, to provide holiday accommodation that caters for both children and adults with profound and multiple disabilities and their families or carers.

Lynda spent many years providing respite and foster care for children with a wide range of disabilities and associated needs.

Lynda previously found finding holiday accommodation that catered for the needs of the children with disabilities she cared for extremely difficult and often found that there was a lack of appropriate facilities, even in accommodation that stated it was suitable. This is how Alexandra House came about.

The bungalow has three bedrooms, one double, one twin and a single bedroom for special needs, equipped with hi-low bed and tracking hoist. There is a wetroom large enough for a wheel chair and second bathroom with hi-lo bath and wc both with tracking hoists. The property has level access throughout with plenty of turning space for wheelchairs.

A local agency can provide carers and additional facilities if required. Locally you can enjoy days out on the nearby Tarka trail, an old railway line now converted into an accessible cycle trail and footpath. There i ramped access to the beach at Saunton Sands where it is possible to hire an all-terrain adaptable wheelchair for the beach.
