In a small corner of the stunning South Devon countryside, with fresh sea air and the most beautiful scenery, you will find Carswell Farm. Tucked away on the South Devon coast, our six holiday cottages are right in the heart of our working organic dairy farm and yet only a few minutes walk from the coast path and secluded beaches and coves, including our own private cove.
Downstairs in Shepherd's Cottage, the living area is open plan and has a lounge area at the front, with chestnut wood flooring from trees on the farm and a wood-burning stove; a kitchen/dining area where the original slate floor slabs combined with units give a true farmhouse feel, and a large utility/shower room at the back with a washer/dryer, shower, toilet and sink.
Upstairs, the master king-sized bedroom has a washbasin and a large sash window with stunning views over the surrounding fields and woodland. There is also a cosy twin room and another slightly smaller room with full size bunk beds. The family bathroom on this floor has a wonderfully old fashioned, deep bath where you can soak away your cares... or just soak your tired and sandy children after a day spent rock pooling on the beach.
The back door leads out into a sunny, secure garden with a patio, garden furniture, barbecue, washing line and fully stocked log shed. There is a gate through to our lovely wildflower meadow and children's play area - complete with tractor!
Explore the nearby picturesque towns of Kingsbridge, Dartmouth and Salcombe or visit the historic port of Plymouth. Why not visit out of season and cosy down by a roaring log fire, or come and see the lambs in spring?
We put fresh local organic milk in each cottage for guests on arrival. Carswell is also the birthplace of the Well Hung Meat Company so our visitors can taste award winning local organic lamb and beef.
All the cottages are extremely well equipped with Digital widescreen TVs, DVDs, washing machines, dishwashers etc and all have private gardens with table and BBQ. Cots and high chairs available on request. Well behaved dogs are very welcome in The Lodge, Corner and Shepherd’s Cottages.
Open all year. 5 cottages sleeping from 2 to 14 (33 people in total). Short breaks available all year.
