Connetts Farm Holiday Cottages Holiday Cottage Description

Connetts Farm is a 100 acre (40 Hectare) working farm and is situated in a coastal position giving cliff top views over the Thames Estuary. There are horses and sheep on the farm with hay and cereal crops being grown. There is also a small area of young woodland that we have planted as part of a conservation scheme. Additionally each year some areas of the farm are left to grow wild for the benefit of wildlife.
South Barn.
(2 bedrooms) Each of the three cottages are comfortably furnished with views over the pond and farmland. Guests are welcome to use all of the grounds around the cottages and garden furniture is provided.
North Barn.
(3 bedrooms) Furnished and decorated to a high standard. In North Barn the accommodation comprises of two large self-catering cottages that look out over the farm & out to sea.
The cottages have spacious gardens where guests can relax, sunbathe or have a barbecue. Around the farm guests will see a whole host of wildlife. Wild ducks fly into the ponds and there are many rabbits, pheasants and other wild animals and birds to be seen.
Bed-linen, towels, heating, electricity & water are all included in the price of the cottage hire.
Prices from £240 to £570 per week.
We are situated on the Isle of Sheppey, a small island off of the North Kent coast and it is approximately 9 miles long by 5 miles wide. It is connected to the mainland by two bridges. There are not any charges to cross these bridges. The new Sheppey Crossing was opened in July 2006 and is the island's first fixed link with the mainland. The old Kingsferry Bridge is a lifting bridge, it is still in use and the railway line also crosses this bridge.
There are traditional seaside towns on the island, such as Leysdown and Sheerness and there are the heritage towns of Queenborough and Blue Town which are rich in cultural heritage.
The island is also a great place to visit for bird watching with the R.S.P.B. reserve being at nearby Elmley where many species of birds may be seen, both common and rare.
For visits to London (50 miles), Canterbury (30 miles), Rochester (20 Miles) & Maidstone (20 miles), there are good, dual carriageway, road links to the motorway system.
There is also a mainline railway from Sittingbourne (10 miles) to the centre of London with a connecting line from Sheerness. Journey time Sittingbourne to London Victoria about 1 hour.

This property has been advertised on My Favourite Holiday Cottages since 24-08-2011
