Forest View Cottage is graded 4 star by Enjoy England and is situated on a quiet single track no-through road at the top of Blakeney Hill in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. The cottage has three bedrooms and sleeps five and is extremely comfortable and well equipped. The cottage is great for families or couples and has stunning views across the Forest of Dean and River Severn.
The Forest is an ideal retreat at any time of the year. There are many outdoor activities, fishing, walking, mountain biking, canoeing, caving and climbing. There are picnic spots throughout the Forest and waymarked trails. Cycles can be hired at centres in the Forest. You can travel on the Dean Forest Railway in steam hauled carriages. There is the Forest Heritage Centre, Go Ape Activity Centre (a treetop assault course) Clearwell Caves, Puzzlewood, Symonds Yat and Tintern Abbey in the Wye Valley all within a short drive. The city of Gloucester is sixteen miles away where the National Waterways Museum can be visited at Gloucester Docks. The walled town of Chepstow is a short drive away with its castle and racecourse.
