Glenlivet at Bluefolds Holiday Cottage Description
Glenlivet cottage is an end cottage of the converted steading building. The patio doors at the front of the cottage are south facing to enjoy all day sunshine and the stunning mountain views to the Cairngorms National Park with superb walking and hiking from the front door. There is also a door into the walled courtyard with a rotary clothes line. Glenlivet is ideal for larger groups perhaps sharing 2 cottages as there is ample room to eat and relax together in it. The steading has a fenced garden surrounding it.
Glenlivet is double glazed with a modern kitchen, electric heating and comfortably furnished with Wi-Fi, CD/radio player, Telephone, Digital Satellite TV, Video and DVD players. The cottage has a coal fired stove as a feature in the lounge which is much enjoyed by our visitors. Linen, towels and t-towels are included.
Cot, high chair and baby bath are available free. Barbecue and patio furniture included.
All on one level, Glenlivet has a spacious open plan lounge/dining area with beautiful far-reaching views through the French windows. The raised level modern kitchen is up 4 steps and includes a washing machine, electric cooker, microwave and fridge/freezer. The bathroom has a bath, shower, toilet and basin. There are 2 large warm and colourful bedrooms each having 1 double and 1 single bed plus a 3rd double room. This cottage comfortably sleeps 6 guests or can be combined with another cottage to sleep 10.
This high quality cottage has recently been redecorated and re-carpeted and has a very high standard of cleanliness.
Visitors are welcome to bring well-behaved dogs. There is plenty of space for them in the garden and there are many excellent way marked trails on the Glenlivet estate as well as many excellent beaches slightly further away which are good for dog walking.
You can enjoy a wonderful holiday in the remote wilderness area of the Cairngorms National Park. In spring - watch the lambs gambolling in the fields; in summer walk on the moors enjoying the purple of the heather or in autumn - walk by our many rivers and lochs, enjoying the autumn colours. In winter - photograph the snow on the mountains and frost on the trees or try sledging, ski-ing or snowboarding at the Lecht ski resort. All times are ideal for walking by the rivers Livet, Avon or Spey or cycling on the way marked trails on the Glenlivet estate and in the Cairngorms National Park.
There are excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing, golfing, fishing, and for touring the castle trail (Balmoral, Brodie, Ballindalloch, Crathes, Dunottar and more); the coastal trail from beaches at Nairn, Findhorn, Roseisle, Burghead, Hopeman, Lossiemouth, Spey Bay along to Cullen and the whisky trail with free tours and “a wee dram” at the Glenlivet and Glenfiddich, Dufftown with a further 8 distilleries offering tours and tastes.
