Goose Bank Holiday Cottage Description
Goose Bank is roomy and comfortable with views of this tiny hamlet, West Scrafton, from every window. The kitchen and bathroom are light and modern but the house has an atmosphere of grandeur and luxury with its wooden panelled doors and staircase, wooden shuttered windows downstairs and elegant tiled hall. The dining room is spacious with bookcase of books, maps and games available. The sitting room has a woodburning stove, flat screen TV and DVD player. Upstairs the bedrooms are large with a magnificent landing where one can sit and read a book or gaze out over the Green. There is a house bathroom with toilet, handbasin, bath with shower. The single bedroom has an en-suite shower, toilet and hand basin. Downstairs there is a cloakroom with toilet, handbasin and washing machine. The kitchen has electric oven and hob and microwave. There is a fridge and freezer and an extra fridge. Outside there is a small garden at the front and a larger cobbled patio area at the back with picturesque outbuildings. Local hens from the field opposite enjoy the freedom to explore here!
Goose Bank is situated in an 'off the beaten track' village in Coverdale, but is readily accessible to all the attractions of Wensleydale. Aysgarth Falls, Semerwater, Hawes (with its famous Cheese making factory, Countryside Museum ,Ropemakers and Gayle Mill) are all local. Scenes from All Creatures Great and Small were filmed in the village and the Herriots had (and still have) a holiday cottage in the village.
