Cork City dates back to the 7th century, and is split into two by the River Lee, giving rise to numerous bridges and quays.  The 16th century bells of Shandon Church are worth taking time out to listen to them.BLARNEY. A Tudor-style village, just 5 miles from Cork City, is home to the 15th century Blarney Castle where the traditional kissing of the Blarney Stone arose in the 19th century. The Castle Estate  and Rock Close contain a collection of boulders and passages dating back to prehistoric times.CLONAKILTY is a town of tall spires, towers and historic buildings together with a trade and industrial atmosphere. As always, anywhere in Ireland, enjoy the horse-racing and water sports, with a nightlife of traditional music and dance.COBH, the principal emigration port,  was also known as Queenstown, from where the doomed Titanic set sail in 1912. The Story of the Great Hunger of 1845 is displayed at the Cobh Interpretative Centre. Cobh is situated on one of three islands, Great Island, with the other two islands, Little and Fota. Fota Island is a wildlife park, where exotic species of widlife live in their natural environment.KINSALE was founded by the Anglo-Normans in 1177, where the Desmond Castle was built. With a fine array of internationally known restaurants , it gives the area the name of the "Gourmet Capital of Ireland"YOUGHAL - A medieval 13th century walled town on the mouth of the River Blackwater.
