Holiday Cottages in Meath
Meath is one of Ireland's most historic counties, where the Boyne Valley is a United Nations' World Heritage Site. The Hill of Tara, where some people think the Holy Grail is hidden, the town of Kells, where the world-famous Book of Kells was written in what is now a ruined monastery, megalithic tombs and hewn-out passages at Newgrange, and ruins of monasteries at Trim and Bective, and 16th and 17th century great ancestral houses. The two great waterways of the Boyne and Blackwater are rich with salmon and trout. Connoisseurs of the turf will find horse-racing at Fairyhouse, home of the Irish Grand National, Bellewstown and Navan.
