The Officers Mess is an unusual self catering holiday cottage which can accommodate up to five, situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds between Beverley and York in the village of Newbald and within walking distance of two geat pubs.
The Officers' Mess is an usual building constructed from corragated iron. It has been renovated and furnished with a mixture of 1920-1940's pieces in a vintage style. The original woodpanel is seen in many of the room and modern luxuries have been included such as electricity, hot water and an indoor bathroom, not to mention flatscreen TV, DVD player, microwave etc

The newly-renovated accommodation comprises of 3 bedrooms (2 double beds and 1 single bed), a bathroom with a bath and over bath shower and a kitchen dining room.
The kitchen is equipped with electric oven, microwave, fridge. In the Utility room is a washing machine.
The Officers Mess is set with a garden to all 4 sides, chairs and tables are outside and a small fruit garden, when in season you can pick your own rhubarb and strawberries.

There are plenty of things to do in the area, but the area is especially good for walkers and cyclist. The Yorkshire Wolds make a great place to walk and cycle and have also inspired many artist including David Hockney. There is a nearby Hockney Trail.
Keeping with the miltary history of the cottage, there are plenty of hands on history museums in the area,particularly good are The Eden Camp and Fort Paull.
