Penpoll Holiday Cottage Description
Penpoll is a 400 year old mill cottage tucked into a sleepy valley, at the head of Penpol Creek. Hidden away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, here you can truly escape and enjoy stunning river views from the house and extensive gardens. Kingfishers, egrets and other rare birds are regularly seen on this unspoilt stretch of water. Swans and ducks are daily visitors to the banks by the house, to show off their offspring, and eat bread.
The house sleeps up to 10 people, comfortably accommodating two families. The kitchen is very well equipped, plus a large utility room with washing and drying facilities. The cream Aga in the dining room adds extra warmth and atmosphere. All the bedrooms have lovely river views.
Penpoll is the perfect location for those who want to take part in life on the water; there is a private mooring for small dinghies, and it is easy to launch kayaks and canoes from which to enjoy the beautiful creek at high tide. Larger boats may be launched/moored at nearby Penmarlam Slipway.
There are plenty of beautiful nearby beaches, and numerous walks on the South West Coast path and over National Trust land, to enjoy in this very special part of Cornwall.
Nearby Fowey boasts impressive restaurants, food shops and art galleries. The surrounding area is full of inspiration for artists, and is famed
