The Black Watch has an excellent regimental display in their headquarters in Balhousie Castle, while in Scone Palace, the Stone of Destiny was guarded between the 9th and 13th centuries until Edward the First took it to Westminster Abbey where it stayed until its removal on behalf of the new Scottish Parliament to Edinburgh Castle. Dunkeld enjoys an idyllic situation by the River Tay with its row of Little Houses hard by the ruined Cathedral and where Beatrix Potter gave Peter Rabbit his home in the surrounding countryside. Tour and taste the Blair Athol Distillery where the world-famous Bell's Whisky is made.
