Remote cottages don't necessarily mean inaccessible cottages miles off the beaten track. There are many corners of the UK which where guests can feel miles from anywhere, but are still within easy reach of civilisation in the form of a pub or village shop. Consider a country cottage in Shropshire, a County with the lowest population per square mile in England, or one of the secluded cottages to be found tucked away in a corner of a National Park such as The Yorkshire Dales or Dartmoor. If remoteness is too daunting, then consider a secluded cottage with private gardens where guests are unlikely to be overlooked by neighbours (if they have any) and enjoy the feeling of remoteness without actually being somewhere remote!
