Situated in the picturesque seaside village of Pennan, in the glorious North East of Scotland, we have a lovely 200 year old fisherman's cottage. It has recently been renovated to a high standard of comfort, but retains many original features. The cottage has all modern amenities, is heated by oil-fired central heating and has a log burner in the lounge.
On the ground floor, there is a comfy lounge with old stone fireplace and galley kitchen attached, a toilet/cloakroom with wash basin. The large double bedroom is situated on the first floor, with en-suite bathroom (bath and shower over). The twin room is on the second floor, complete with wash basin.
Outside, we have a garden shed, where there is space for storage and this is where the washing machine and tumble dryer is located. There is a table and four chairs in the small yard, where waves can be seen lapping the shore.
Pennan is famous for the filming of "Local Hero", shot in the 1980's staring Burt Lancaster. The iconic red phone box is still situated on the sea front, opposite the pub (which serves excellent food and drink).

Pennan sits nestled at the foot of imposing cliffs, away from main roads and the bustle of everyday life. This tiny former fishing village is quiet, peaceful and romantic. Sit out on a summers evening with a glass of wine and watch the setting sun, or get up early with a cup of coffee to see the rising sun - it's breathtaking.
Seals and dolphins often frequent the local waters, and boat trips can be arranged to see them more closely. There is also an abundance of sea birds and wildlife. Refreshing walks along the beaches or along the cliffs, as well as secluded beaches and hidden coves make Pennan a unique getaway.
The Garden Arms In Gardenstown, which is the next village along the coast to Pennan, serves lovely home made food.
The nearest paper/Spar shop is 2 miles away in New Aberdour and there is also a village store in the coastal village of Gardenstown, along with a bakery for your hot crispy bread and pies, a butcher's and doctor's surgery. Come and relax in Pennan, it really is just "The Ultimate Getaway".

•golf on several excellent courses within a 10 mile radius
•Horse riding
•visiting museums, stately homes, castles or the whiskey trail, to try some of our famous whiskys and to see how they are made
