Old House is the largest of the houses and renovated to a very high standard with under floor heating throughout. After much thought, we decided to make it an upside down house to make the most of the views.
Granite steps lead to the front door, which opens into a spacious open plan first floor, with high-beamed ceilings, a large granite stone fireplace and log burner. Above part of the living room is an open gallery, reached by a fixed stepladder through a hatch and contains two single mattresses (suitable for able adults and older children).
At the other end of the room you will find a large well-fitted kitchen / dining room and an utility / cloak room. The kitchen is fully equipped and fitted with a large electric double oven, an extractor hood, a seimens dishwasher, a large fridge/freezer with water and ice dispenser and a large square oak table and chairs which comfortably seats eight.
The utility / cloakroom contains a seimens washing machine with a separate dryer and a loo so that you don’t have to go downstairs to the bathroom.
A wooden spiral staircase leads you down to the 3 bedrooms (two Double, one Twin), a bathroom and a wet room. The double bedroom at the garden end, has walls over one meter thick and still retains the original medieval fireplace, while the second double bedroom has large patio doors leading onto the front garden.
The spacious bathroom has a roll top bath and a limestone floor with under floor heating.
Facing the middle bedroom is a wet room with a large rainwater showerhead. The wooden arch above the loo is some three to four hundred years old and was of interest to the Museum of Cornwall.
Situated in the middle of the hamlet, Old House garden surrounds three sides of the house, with a lawn leading down to a small stream surrounded by large trees. Hopefully if the whether is kind, you will be able to enjoy an evening BBQ or a glass of wine under the stars.
