The Bookend

Once home to an 18th-century pub but now a cosy and stylish holiday home for up to six guests, The Bookend in the Somerset city of Bath makes the perfect escape in the South West. This child-friendly cottage welcomes visitors to this tourist haven, whether visiting the Roman baths or the modern Thermae Bath Spa, home to the only natural thermal hot springs in Britain where one can bathe, or just looking for a getaway from your everyday life.

The living space bathes in natural light from the skylight, and its bi-fold doors open upon a walled courtyard garden that makes the perfect setting for alfresco dining on meals grilled on the barbecue or sipping wine.

The bedroom on the lower ground floor features two single beds that can be zipped together to form a super king, whilst the master bedroom is accessed via a half-turn staircase and features a king bed, master bath with a walk-in shower, and expansive views of Bath and Widcombe. The third bedroom with two single beds and a second bathroom with a walk-in shower complete the Bookend’s accommodations.

Besides its eponymous baths, visitors can take in 7th-century Bath Abbey, Royal Victoria Park, or the many Roman archaeological sites in the area. Enjoy walks through the stunning Somerset countryside or day trips to nearby Stonehenge, Avebury, and Longleat Safari Park.
