It will appeal to couples and families looking for a peaceful holiday in an unspoilt and remote location. Amidst tranquil surroundings overlooking Grassholme Reservoir Brock Scar is perfectly located for walking and fishing holidays or using the car to explore the beautiful North Pennines and Yorkshire Dales.
The Cottage nestles in an idyllic setting guaranteeing a relaxing holiday in this lovely part of the North Pennines where you can be assured of peace and tranquillity, away from noise and stress, at any time of the year.
The cottage has been beautifully restored by its current owners, retaining period features such as beamed ceilings and stone fireplaces. Downstairs is a cosy sitting room (Sky TV & DVD) and a well-equipped kitchen diner together with a utility room and bathroom with bath and shower facilities. Upstairs is a double and a twin bedroom each with washbasins and vanity units.
There is ample parking outside the cottage at the base of the drive which is about 150m from the road. To the rear of the cottage is a low-walled garden looking down to the reservoir with views over open countryside.
Remote it may be, but the area offers lots to do. For those in search of an active holiday, as well as walking, there are opportunities for cycling, riding, canoeing, sailing and bird watching. In the spring the countryside blooms with primroses, gentians and bluebells. Within the village are two pubs, while nearby Middleton-in-Teesdale offers a variety of shops and other services. A little further afield the historic cities of Durham and York are also easily reached.
