Blaenfforest Cottages have been thoroughly recommended in editorials in the Sunday Times, The Telegraph and the Sunday Mirror and have gained a reputation for good, old fashioned comfort with the ability to ‘tailor make’ a Cottage Holiday especially for you. Every time you visit you will find generous Welcome Goodies, including handmade chocolates, a bottle of wine, our own home produced eggs and honey and flowers, fresh from the garden.
The bedlinen and towels are excellent quality, beautifully laundered white cotton and each bed is finished with a sumptuous Welsh woollen blanket made from Jacobs fleece woven at a local mill.
Come and visit us on our smallholding with peacocks and poultry and bees in the orchard! If you think of the typical farmyard of your childhood, then you can imagine Blaenfforest. Limewashed stone and slate, these buildings have stood the test of time! Standing alone in an idyllic situation at the end of our private drive you are surrounded by 10 acres of grounds, gardens and countryside, rich with wildlife in which you are free to roam. We’d love you to spend some time exploring the grounds - the pond garden which is a tranquil place to watch the dragonflies and of course the orchard where you can admire the view or just sit and dream. The gardens and grounds at Blaenfforest will be opened for charity in June under the National Garden Scheme.
Only 2 miles from the ancient market town of Newcastle Emlyn with its range of traditional shops and a wide range of eateries and hostelries, Blaenfforest is worlds away in peace and seclusion. It has a unique situation, perched above the valley of the River Arad which flows into the famous trout river the Teifi, and comes complete with a private Woodland Walk meandering through ancient bluebell woodlands.
All bedlinen, towels, tea towels etc. are provided as is heating and electricity, so autumn and winter breaks are very snug.
Outside the Cottage is a safe, enclosed patio area with planted tubs, bird feeders and garden furniture ideal for those relaxing, sunny mornings with a coffee to discuss your plans for the day or just to absorb the peace and quiet! This is also an ideal place for dogs to have a snooze after a good day out, and up to two well behaved dogs are welcome in The Cottage.
The Cottage has ample level turning and parking space.
“Thank you Sally & Russell for sharing this idyllic spot with us. We have loved the Cottage and its surroundings. Also, thank you for the Welcome Goodies, they were much appreciated. We have been charmed by the many places we have visited on this, our first visit to this corner of Wales” G & B West Yorkshire
