The Granary is the larger of the Cottages and has two kingsize, ensuite bedrooms. The open plan ground floor is still stone flagged but now has the benefit of under-floor heating and a woodburning stove with two comfy sofas to snuggle up in. There is a flat screen TV with integral DVD player, freeview and teletext and a digital radio with iPod dock. There is a private 7 seater Hot Tub adjacent to the Granary for your relaxation.
The kitchen/diner features the original iron sack pulley attached to one of the beams and has a dishwasher, washing machine and large fridge/freezer. There is also an oak dining table and chairs. Both bedrooms upstairs have vaulted beamed ceilings and spacious shower rooms while the window sills are deep enough to sit on. The kingsize beds can be converted to singles and there is also room for a cot. Free Wi-Fi is available. Up to two, well behaved dogs are welcome in the Granary and there is a safe enclosed courtyard area with seating, planted tubs, well used bird feeding stations and a barbeque. There is dedicated, level parking for two cars.
“The Granary at Blaenfforest - A small but luxurious conversion...it's discreetly stylish" The Sunday Times, April 2012.
The cottages have been thoroughly recommended in editorials in the Sunday Times, The Telegraph and the Sunday Mirror and have gained a reputation for good, old fashioned comfort with the ability to ‘tailor make’ a Cottage Holiday especially for you. Every time you visit you will find generous Welcome Goodies, including handmade chocolates, bottle of wine, home produced eggs and honey and flowers, fresh from the garden.
The bedlinen and towels are excellent quality, beautifully laundered white cotton and each bed is finished with a sumptuous Welsh woollen blanket made from Jacobs fleece woven at a local mill.
If you think of the typical farmyard of your childhood, then you can imagine Blaenfforest with peacocks and poultry and bees in the orchard! Limewashed stone and slate buildings have stood the test of time! Standing alone in an idyllic situation at the end of a private drive you are surrounded by 10-acres of grounds, gardens and countryside, rich with wildlife in which you are free to roam. The gardens and grounds at Blaenfforest are opened in June under the National Garden Scheme.
Only 2 miles from the ancient market town of Newcastle Emlyn with its range of traditional shops and a wide range of eateries and hostelries, Blaenfforest is worlds away in peace and seclusion. It has a unique situation, perched above the valley of the River Arad which flows into the famous trout river the Teifi, and comes complete with a private Woodland Walk meandering through ancient bluebell woodlands.
All bedlinen, towels, tea towels etc. are provided as is heating and electricity, so autumn and winter breaks are very snug, we also provide a basket of logs for cosy fires in the woodburning stove.
