Property Details

'The children didn't want to leave. You will be on our top holiday list and be talked about for years to come' and 'We had such a magical time. The children loved feeding the animals and we all enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful cottage and grounds'. Just two of the comments left by guests which help to sum up the feel of Ash Cottage. If you want to truly relax on holiday, but still be in a great base for exploring North Cornwall, this is the place for you.

Ash is one of five cottages all graded at 4* by Quality in Tourism, that stands at the end of a private tree lined drive in grounds of three acres, all surrounded by open countryside. The cottage has a small private garden and seating area to the front, which leads out to the two communal bbq areas, a playing field for children and pets corner, where Bailey the pygmy goat, his sisters and our free range chickens are always on stand-by for a stroke. Helping to feed the animals in the morning is a highlight for many children and sets them up for the days adventures.

Ash Cottage has the living room, dining area. kitchen and shower room on the ground floor, with a double and twin bedroom on the first. Beamed ceilings and a log fire in the living room are part of the cottage charm, be warned, some of the beams are low. For those guests who have difficulty with stairs, our Roundhouse, Pond Meadow or Little Leighs cottages would be more suitable.

Ash is perfect for couples or families of up to four. It is situated south of Bude near Crackington Haven and being only a couple of miles from the'Atlantic Highway' makes the cottage a great base from which to explore the North Cornish coast. Boscastle, Tintagel and Port Isaac are all nearby, as are great walks on Bodmin Moor. For beaches, coastal walks, moorland treks or simply enjoying the ambiance of a local pub, Ash is the place to set up base and return in the evening for rest and relaxation.

We, Lorraine and Geoff, live in the farmhouse near the cottages. We welcome you in and leave you to enjoy your holiday but we are always around for help and advice.

6th Visit And It Won't Be Our Last by Ian and Theresa on March 19th 2016

Just discovered our entry on our first visit in 2008. We have stayed in four of the five cottages and can't fault any of them. Padstow, Boscastle, Port Isaac and Bude are still worth a visit. The local pubs all have excellent food. I think this is our 6th visit and it won't be our last. Thanks.

Brilliant cottages by Jo and Guy on June 19th 2015

This was our second visit to these brilliant cottages and again we have had an amazing time. Our first visit saw us discover we were expecting our first child and this time we come visiting as a family, so this place holds a lot of special meaning for us. We enjoyed days out at Sandymouth Bay and Crackington is a great place to watch the sun go down, No doubt we will be back again soon.
