'A real gem - from the beautiful gardens, comfortable and beautifully done cottages to Lorraine's morning goat and chicken feeding times with the children. We have all been kept very happy', is one of many such comments in Pond Meadow's guest book. W try to make sure that from the moment you arrive to when you leave, that your time in Pond Meadow is a happy one.
Pond Meadow has been converted from farm buildings along with four other cottages and is situated at the end of a long drive in grounds of three acres, which offers distant views over open farmland towards Dartmoor. To the front of the cottage is a small private garden and seating area, a great place to drink your morning coffee, soak up the sun and listen to the birdsong. A playing field, two bbq areas and pets corner make up the communal gardens to the front of the cottage.
The cottage has a 4* grading from Quality in Tourism. The living room with wood burning stove, dining area, kitchen, shower room and a small twin bedroom are all on the ground floor, with a further double and twin room being on the first floor. The ground floor bedroom is often used by guests with mobility issues, with the cottage having all the required facilities on this floor. Although we offer alternate sleeping arrangements on the ground floor, the cottage is only equipped for five guests. Be warned, beamed ceilings on the ground floor are a potential hazard to those over 6'2".
Pond Meadow is ideal for couples and families. Although it has the feel of a secluded holiday cottage, the 'Atlantic Highway', which runs the length of the North Cornish coast is nearby, making this a great touring base. Being south of Bude near Crackington Haven a five minute drive to the main road brings Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Isaac and Bodmin Moor all within a 15-20 minute drive. Bude's fantastic beaches, Widemouth for surfing lessons and Crackington Haven for rock pooling and relaxing are the most popular destinations for our guests.
Living in the farmhouse next to the cottages, we, Lorraine and Geoff, are here to welcome you when you arrive and generally be available for help and advice throughout your stay. We don't intrude, it's your holiday not ours.

We had a special reason to be in the area as we were visiting relatives, but Pond Meadow has made our stay even more enjoyable. We have found the cottage to be most comfortable and now we know of this secret hideaway in Cornwall, we will spread the word. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The perfect base camp

Pond Meadow has been the perfect base camp for gorgeous excursions to so many places in Cornwall and Devon. Hartland Abbey and Gardens, Lost Gardens of Heligan, nearby beaches, hikes along the coast and Bodmin Moor. The chickens provided eggs for breakfast which we really enjoyed. Thanks a lot for being great hosts.

Very pleased with our stay here at Pond Meadow. Found this to be the prefect spot for a holiday. Used the big field to play cricket, enjoyed two bbq's and sat in the garden. Loved Boscastle, Widemouth Bay for body boarding, Bude for beach and shops, Port Isaac was very quaint and also enjoyed a Sunday in Tintagel. Thank you Lorraine and Geoff for a very memorable holiday.
