Why stay in The Roundhouse? Don't ask us just see what our guests have to say. 'Lovely location, beautiful cottage, perfect to relax after a hard days coastal path walking', 'perfect for Crackington Haven, Bude, Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Isaac', 'wish we'd booked for a fortnight', 'we would not hesitate to recommend you to others' and 'simply perfection'.
The Roundhouse stands at the end of a private tree lined drive surrounded by open countryside. The three acre grounds include a private lawned garden, communal bbq areas, playing field for children, pets corner, where Bailey the pygmy goat, his sisters and our free range chickens are always welcoming, and a small copse where dog owners can exercise their friend. The cottage is pet friendly with one large or two small dogs being welcome.
The Roundhouse like the other four cottages has been awarded 4* by Quality in Tourism and is well equipped for your holiday. It has a double bedroom, living room with log burner, a large kitchen/diner, shower room with toilet and a separate wc. Being all on one level makes this perfect for those that have difficulty with stairs. Parking is immediately to the front of the cottage and only for our use.
If you want to escape to a tranquil hideaway and enjoy watching local birds and wildlife, this is the place for you. When your batteries are recharged the 'Atlantic Highway' is just a couple of minutes drive, giving you access to the whole of North Cornwall, making this the perfect touring base. Crackington Haven is a 5 mile drive, great for the beach, coastal walk or simply watching the sunset from the warmth of the pub next to the beach.
Bude, the sunniest place in Britain in 2014, is 10 miles from the cottage, whilst Boscastle and Tintagel are equally on your doorstep. Excellent local pubs and restaurants offering local beers and home cooked food are all within a short drive.
We, Lorraine and Geoff, live in the farmhouse near the cottage and are always here to welcome you in and are on hand throughout your stay for help and advice. For a great holiday at a reasonable price you need look no further.
Recharged Batteries by Bill and Irene on May 13th 2016
Our third visit to Trenannick Cottages and our second to The Roundhouse. As always extremely comfortable and delightful surroundings, Enjoyed cliff top walks at Crackington Haven with superb crap sandwiches at The Coombe Barton Inn. Pencarrow House and gardens well worth a visit. Lorraine and Geoff's welcome and attention to detail is as always greatly appreciated, as are the great hens eggs. Re-charged our batteries again after a wet winter.
Pure Bliss by Nigel and Sally on April 1st 2016
We have both enjoyed a very peaceful stay in The Roundhouse for a week. Pure bliss in every respect. The sound of woodpeckers outside was a joy, as were the walks and cycling.
Wonderful relaxing and tiring by Becky and Dan on November 20th 2015
Our first stay in The Roundhouse and we were not at all disappointed. Everything we needed for us and the dogs. Cosy and warm cottage. We visited Tintagel - amazing views! Boscastle - quaint little village, amazing witchcraft museum and yummy bakery, Crackington Haven - stunning views, beach and woodland walk. Padstow - good place for a pasty and fab free food fair!! Rough Tor - fantastic walk up to the top and amazing views at the summit. All in all a wonderful, relaxing and tiring time had by all. We will definitely be back in the future.
Far from the madding crowds by Larry and Sam on September 26th 2015
A wonderful place to stay and tour around North Cornwall. The cottages are tucked away and far from the madding crowds of humanoids. A great place to chill out and re-charge the batteries. The Roundhouse is so cosy and has all the modern equipment. Lovely owners. Hopefully we will return in the not to distant future. A great stay.
Birdsong by Daniel and Lucy on July 4th 2015
We have really enjoyed our first visit to The Roundhouse and I think it is safe to say it won't be our last! The cottage and surrounding area is very relaxing and it's lovely being able to hear the birds sing. Widemouth Bay offered some amazing views, we had not seen waves like that before. Daniel ventured into the sea for surfing lessons and loved it. We would highly recommend Raven Surf School, the team are great. Thanks for a great stay Lorraine and Geoff, we look forward to seeing you again next year.
