A dog friendly, historic Grade II listed farmhouse, set in a stunning rural location in over 120 acres of organic farmland, Crocadon was first recorded in the 13th century when it was a notable medieval fortified mansion.

Located in South East Cornwall and close to Plymouth, Crocadon is situated on the edge of St Mellion village, opposite the internationally renowned St Mellion Golf and Country Club.

The house is approached by the original mansion's private tree and ancient hedge lined driveway then through a short walnut avenue, giving access to ample parking outside the formal entrance.

Surrounded by orchards, the house has a southerly aspect offering superb countryside views appreciated from many of the bedrooms.

As you go through into the entrance hall, crossing the original slate flagstone floor, you are now in the inner hall leading past the cloakroom to the beautiful billiard room, a lovely, light and airy room with a full-size pool table, oak floor and an open fire.

Up two steps leads you into the drawing room with panelled walls, an open fire and large sash windows overlooking one of the orchards.

From one wonderful room to another as you enter the magnificent dining hall with original slate sandstone floor, massive open granite fireplace and woodburning stove, a spectacular room for everybody to sit round the locally-made, craftsmen-built oak table to enjoy dinner.

From here you are taken to the large kitchen with slate flagstone floor, two-hob AGA and fitted bespoke oak units, with another massive table big enough to sit everybody round for breakfast.

There are seven bedrooms here, six of which are accessed by a superb dual-galleried oak staircase, all individual with oak floors, exposed beams and character throughout.

There is a mix of bath and shower rooms including three roll-top baths, two showers, six toilets as well as hand basins in most of the bedrooms.

A truly spectacular house to be enjoyed at any time of year.

A fantastic, tranquil, private property with very flexible accommodation. We were a group consisting of 3 families and the layout of the rooms was perfect to meet our needs, especially when it came to settling the children at bedtime. There was also plenty of space for everyone to relax and get the most our of their holiday. The owner was also very helpful and friendly.
