Evocative by name and equally evocative by nature, Moonshadow is a superb luxury holiday cottage in Cornwall for couples. Its ocean-inspired contemporary interior draws from its location – just a moment’s stroll from Porthmeor Beach in the heart of St. Ives. As a truly romantic escape, this dog-friendly, cosy cottage has a surprisingly spacious feel, being spread over two levels within ear-shot of the surf.
The quality and attention to detail in this property is exceptional, making it one of the most outstanding holiday homes in West Cornwall. It’s glamorous without being ostentatious thanks to a stylish blend of soft furnishings, mirrors, sumptuous textiles and atmospheric lighting. Add in the warm ambience created by having underfloor heating throughout, ensures this is a magnificent cottage oozing style and intimacy – suitable for holidays and short breaks at any time of the year.
The ground floor comprises the open plan living areas, while a large double bedroom with a 6ft super-king bed occupies the first floor together with an en-suite walk-in shower room.
The lounge area features a cosy leather Chesterfield sofa, coffee table and a 40-inch flat-screen TV with Freeview. The kitchen/dining area is perfectly designed for couples who enjoy cooking but not the washing up with facilities such as: * 4 ring-induction hob * Electric combination oven/microwave, * Dishwasher * Fridge * Kettle * Nespresso coffee machine * All utensils, crockery, glasses etc.
There is also a downstairs loo with washbasin on the ground floor.
Upstairs, the double bedroom features a built-in wardrobe and a second flat-screen TV for long lazy lie-ins.
Moonshadow has its own private parking space – rare for holiday cottages in St. Ives. It will be fine for small/medium sized cars, but for 4WD vehicles, there is a second private and secure parking space a short distance away available at an additional charge.
Should you venture forth from Moonshadow, in addition to the beaches, lose yourselves in a maze of tiny cobbled streets bristling with inspirational galleries, craft-shops, delicatessens, bistros and restaurants, for St. Ives is still home to the largest artists community in Cornwall. Then there’s the harbour, where fishing trawlers mix it with pleasure craft from yachts to rowing boats. Take a seal-watching trip along the coast or go out on a mackerel boat for an hour or two to catch some fish for your dinner table.
