Property Details

Firth House is a large detached cottage with excellent amenities, set in lovely countryside in the small village of Gilcrux, at the top of the north western Lakes and close to the Solway Coast.

This well-presented cottage is ideal for large families and groups of friends to enjoy time together in spacious and comfortable accommodation.

There are three recreational areas including two sitting rooms, one of which has a corner settee, large TV and a variety of games to enjoy with friends and family.

The lovely bright sun room has doors opening out to the patio, and features a quirky suspended walkway above that leads to one of the bedrooms.

All bedrooms offer en-suite facilities except one double and twin which have Jack-and-Jill access to a separate shower room.

In addition there is also a family bathroom including a whirlpool bath.

Off the landing there is a delightful first floor balcony with seating where superb far-reaching views to the mountains and Solway Coast can be enjoyed, and is the perfect spot for star gazing or having a morning coffee.

If the weather is warm, the garden offers several seating areas where you can relax and dine alfresco if you wish.

Gilcrux village boasts a Norman church, a trout farm where beginners are welcome and a bistro and pub that are just five minutes’ walk away from the cottage.

The west coast is less than a fifteenen drive away, where you can enjoy some coastal walking in this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, or visit Allonby where you can kitesurf on the beach or simply take in the stunning coast.

The western Lakes, a less crowded area of the Lake District National Park, is easily reached and features dramatic Skiddaw and the beautiful Bassenthwaite Lake.

This wonderful cottage awaits you at the end of the day, in a peaceful location enabling you to enjoy time with friends and family in a beautiful setting at any time of the year.
