Set in the heart of the popular Lake District town of Keswick, 8 Myrtle Villas is a stylish, open-plan self-catering holiday cottage for up to four people in two bedrooms. This pet-friendly cottage welcomes two dogs
Centrally based in the beloved market town of Keswick, this cottage is a comfortable, luxurious Lake District holiday cottage in Cumbria that is perfectly located for exploring this popular region of the Lake District. Forming part of a row of Victorian terraced houses, the cottage has been refurbished to a very high standard and boasts stylish, comfortable decor throughout.
Downstairs is a spacious, open plan living, dining, and kitchen area with a roaring wood burner that is idyllic for those cosy nights in. The first floor boasts a family bathroom with over-bath shower and a king size bedroom with its own en suite shower room, dressing table, television, and views over the town towards the mountains. The second bedroom is on the second floor and can be made up as a twin or a super king depending on your requirements - it also benefits from lovely views and a television. Outside the property is a front garden with outside seating as well as lockable bike storage.
Keswick's enduring popularity is thanks to its incredible location on the shores of Derwentwater and its surrounding views of Lakeland fells. It also has a huge selection of things to do for all tastes. The walking in the area is unlimited either around the lake, up onto the fells (from family-friendly hikes to more challenging routes), or along the river. Cyclists are also well-catered for with well-renowned mountain biking trails in nearby Whinlatter Forest or challenging on-road cycling to enjoy. Within the town itself is a generous selection of eateries (pubs, restaurants and cafes), independent and outdoor pursuit shots, a lakeside Theatre, the Art Deco cinema, the Puzzling Place, the Pencil Museum, and a climbing wall. On the lake you can gently sail to various jetties on the shores to explore further afield, hire a rowing boat and 'do it yourself', or be brave and take a dip! There are also numerous outdoor activity providers who offer plenty of adventurous activities to get your adrenaline pumping!
Keswick is also well-placed for exploring further afield. Why not head into the Jaws of Borrowdale for more walking and cycling opportunities or to discover Honister Slate Mine and its Via Ferrata. Continuing on you will find Buttermere and Crummock Water, two of the Lake District's prettiest lakes. In the opposite direction you will find the market town of Cockermouth where you can visit Willliam Wordsowrth's childhood home or take a tour and tasting at the Jennings Brewery. The Lake District Wildlife Park, Lakes Distillery, and Mirehouse stately home are also short drives away and well worth a visit.
Whatever your preference, 8 Myrtle Villas is the perfect holiday cottage in Cumbria from where to begin your explorations of this wonderful part of the Lake District.
