The Courtyard is a stunning Grade II listed townhouse in Kirkby Lonsdale. Built in 1807, it is located in the heart of the charming market town of Kirkby Lonsdale in Cumbria, close to both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks.

Built around a courtyard setting with expansive gardens to the rear, this delightful cottage also has an attached annexe and a luxurious hot tub.

Set over three floors, the house sits between a church and a welcoming local inn, just off the end of the main high street, and is accessed through an original stone-built archway.

As befits a home of this grandeur, this handsome building is full of character and charm, and provides ideal holiday accommodation for friends and family to get away from it all and enjoy the old town and its beautiful surroundings.

This first class holiday home boasts many original features including a magnificent tiered staircase, feature windows, high ornate ceilings and beautiful fireplaces.

Providing spacious accommodation, the ground floor offers a well-equipped kitchen with centre island and a lovely warming AGA, along with a dining and utility area.

A stylish sitting room with cosy woodburning stove and dining area provide guests with a place where they can sit, relax and reminisce about their day, plus on the ground floor of the attached annexe is a lovely snug lounge area.

The wide, elegant staircase leads to the first floor, where there are two magnificent master bedrooms, both with super king-size beds and en-suite facilities.

The second floor provides a further four bedrooms, two of which have generous en-suite facilities and also on this floor is a large family bathroom.

The annexe, ideal for friends joining the group, can also be used as a base for children or as a retreat for an older couple. It boasts a double bedroom with en-suite and a sofa bed in a room which also has a small kitchen ably equipped to prepare breakfasts and snacks.

This wonderful Cumbria holiday home has the added benefit of a walled garden, formal gardens and a delightful courtyard, where you can spend the summer evenings relaxing in the hot tub.

The excellent restaurants and shops of Kirkby Lonsdale are just a few minutes’ walk away, waiting to be sampled and explored.

Thursday is market day so make your way into the centre and peruse the many colourful stalls, pick up some superb local produce and maybe even a souvenir or two for everyone back home!

This pretty market town has lots of interesting nooks and crannies to explore and offers a beautiful park along the shores of the River Lune.

Further afield is the Lake District National Park, where you will find the bustling towns of Bowness-on-Windermere and Ambleside, both situated on the shores of Lake Windermere.

Courtyard House was truly spectacular - immaculate and very comfortable. We had a wonderful family get together and the house was perfect for our extended family. The children loved the hot tub! The adults spent all their time in the fabulous kitchen. We just loved it and would certainly recommend it. Kirkby Lonsdale is a hidden gem and well worth exploring.

The house was perfect for our large family reunion - from Cheshire and Australia. Everything that we needed was provided. The location was fantastic in the beautiful town of Kirby Lonsdale . The house itself was lovely, comfortable and stylish furnishings.
