Sedbergh is an ancient town know now as England's book town. It is a charming, bustling place surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the the Howgills and the rolling green countryside of the Yorkshire Dales. With gentle riverside strolls and more vigorous fell walking from the door, it's the ideal place to explore on foot. Nearby Cautley Spout (England's highest waterfall, according to some) is well-wroth a visit or Fairfield Mill is a restored Victorian wool mill now showcasing textile arts and the industrial history of the area. You can also buy beautiful crafts and take a break at its lovely cafe.
The town of Sedbergh itself has plenty of pubs and is a dream destination for bibliophiles, with plenty of spots to lose yourself in choosing your next books. It is also conveniently located on the border of the Lake District, giving you two National Parks to explore!
