Reflections is a romantic, pet-friendly property just a few short miles from Coniston and Windermere in the Lake District and surrounded by beautiful scenery. The 17th century building has been fully modernised in a luxurious style, whilst retaining much of its original character and features.
Nestled on a secluded, private estate and surrounded by lovely grounds, Reflections offers the perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility, being only a few miles from te popular lakes and villages of Coniston and Windermere.
The ground floor apartment is part of a larger house thought to been an old farmhouse dating back to the 17th century. Thanks to its history, it retains many of its period features yet has been stylishly brought into the 21st century to offer luxury, boutique-style accommodation and comfort. Its tasteful decor, contemporary furnishing, and peaks at the lake from the windows, makes this an idyllic place to relax.
There is parking directly outside the shared entrance hall, which leads into an open plan living, kitchen, and dining area; think hardwood floors, dual-aspect windows, stripped doors, windows with original panelling, and a cosy log burner. The dining table sits in front of french windows leading into a private, enclosed patio surrounded by greenery, and boasting a shared dog bath. The shared grounds of the estate are also available for you to explore. Back inside, you will be blow away by the bedroom with elegant, king size, four poster bed and freestanding bath tub. The separate shower room is immaculately presented and benefits from underfloor heating.
A short stroll through the grounds will bring you to one of several jetties on Coniston, or you can take a moderate hike up to Beacon Fell and Beacon Tarn. Alternatively, hop in the car for a picturesque drive along Coniston lakeshore to the village with the same name. The pretty Lake District village of Coniston offers boat hire, bike hire, water sports, gorge scrambling, archery, and many other outdoor activities.
You can't visit Coniston without a sail on one of the Heritage Steam Yacht Gondolas, which glide peacefully across the water with informative commentary about the local area. For something a bit more active, head up the Coniston Old Man with a picnic, or head to Grizedale Forest to explore their art trails, mountain biking routs, and walking paths. If you like your history and literature, Brantwood, Hilltop Farm (previously the home of Beatrix Potter), Holker Hall, and Blackwell Arts and Crafts House are all within easy reach.
Without a doubt, Reflections is an ideal base for exploring all the attractions and beauty of the southern Lake District!
