Brae Fell Cottage is an superb conversion of a large ancient Lake District barn which simply oozes character.

It is part of the imaginatively converted buildings of a 17th century hill farm - Monkhouse Hill Cottages - winners of numerous national awards for quality, excellence and environmental practice including twice winner of Cumbria Tourism 'Self Catering Holiday of the Year' and holder of the Green Tourism Gold Award.

The ground floor has a spacious dining room with a fully equipped kitchen (including dishwasher and washer dryer) alongside.

The open tread stairs lead directly to a stunning living room with atmospheric old beams, exposed stonework and large soft leather sofas. Adjacent to the living room is a second smaller sitting area ideal for reading and board games.

The cottage has a wide flatscreen TV with DVD player, a 'Bluetooth' music player with CD and DAB, and access to free high speed wifi.

There are two self contained bedroom suites, one upstairs and one downstairs, each with a private hallway leading to a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a bathroom. Both bathrooms have been completely refitted to our highest standard, with the upstairs one featuring a water jet spa bath.

The cottage has a patio area in the courtyard, popular for barbecues and dining outside. Beyond the courtyard you can explore the 5 acres of landscaped grounds including woodland and a small lake.

Artwork in Brae Fell includes a fine tapestry from June Stock in the dining area, and an amusing collection of Beryl Cook prints. Furniture in all the main areas has been specially made by 'Out of the Woods'.

Prior to your visit you will be able to use our unique online ordering service, which includes free toy boxes and many other items for babies and young children, catering services, grocery packs, local beers, luxury extras and free Welcome All assistance items. Everything you order will be placed in your cottage for your arrival.

When staying in Brae Fell you will also have full free of charge membership of the fabulous North Lakes Spa, where the facilities include a flat-deck swimming pool, steam room, saunas and a state of the art gymnasium.
