You really do pay attention to detail! by Wyatt on May 5th 2017
Thank you so much for renting us your lovely house in Milldale again this year. We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed the surroundings. You really do pay attention to detail and we were very impressed with the standard and attractiveness of the property. Everything is provided and it is a comfortable and beautiful base for spending special time together in a wonderful part of the country.May 2017
What a beautiful setting! by Williams on April 21st 2017
What a beautiful setting! Stunning views all around made all the more beautiful by the sunshine we were lucky enough to have with us all weekend. It was with great reluctance that we packed up to leave on Sunday afternoon! Still, we had enjoyed wonderful walks from the house -the beauty of Dovedale exceeded our expectations - and we had enjoyed our family celebrations at the Coach and Horses in Fenny Bentley. The views from the cottage are stunning by Stryjek on March 24th 2017
We had a most enjoyable long weekend at Valley View celebrating a big birthday with all the family. The views from the cottage are stunning and the cottage itself very well equipped. We had a perfect weekend and the sun shone too! Thank you. March 2017
The house was fantastic by Ryan on November 25th 2016
We had a lovely time at Valley View. The house was fantastic, very well equipped and lovely and spacious. The view and local area are stunningly beautiful, the family very much enjoyed going for walks. The board games came in really handy and yours is one of the few places I've see that actually seats as many as it sleeps. I'm sure if the opportunity arises we would love to stay again. The dogs were very happy and easily pleased by Nowak on October 16th 2015
We found this cottage to be extremely well equipped and the location is superb. The rooms were to a standard we were expecting and the kitchen and living room were a great size for all to mingle. The annex for the newest arrival (baby) to the family was ace. The dogs were also very happy and easily pleased, just needed their bed, which next to the fire was perfect.
My mum had the best time celebrating her 70th by Bloor on September 11th 2015
Thank you we had a wonderful stay at Valley View. My mum had the best time celebrating her 70th there as did we. The cottage is beautiful and so well equipped and the view is just spectacular. You really feel that you are nestled away in a special place.
Ideal for three families by Hyde on August 21st 2015
The accommodation worked excellently for the three families and we had a very good relaxing holiday. We would recommend The Coach and Horses at Fenny Bentley for a superb meal and excellent service. The access to lots of things to do is very good as well. The house was comfortable and very well equipped. We particularly liked the separate dining room where we cold linger over our meals.
Lots of room and extremely well equipped by Walton on June 26th 2015
We had a wonderful weekend at Valley View. We celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary with our family. The cottage was perfect for 12 people, lots of room and extremely well equipped. The weather was beautiful, we had walks from the cottage, no need to use the cars. We enjoyed the gardens and were able to relax in the sun (after a long walk). From 7 to 73 years and all in between (and Smudge the dog) had a great time in this beautiful setting.
Best every reunion by Heath on April 21st 2015

The location was amazing by Phillips on March 6th 2015
We loved) being able to all sit in the lounge or the dining room together to enjoy each other's company, and also the sunny Saturday morning walk we all went on alongside the river - bliss! (We liked) the generous seating areas, the flexibility of the twin or king size beds in 3 of the rooms, the facilities of the cottage, the location was amazing and the parking more than ample.
We could not have wished for anything more! by Deville on February 23rd 2015
We could not have wished for anything more than what you have provided at Valley View. We were celebrating my 50th birthday with friends and relatives from 6 months to 70 years old (including some tricky teenager types) and everyone who paid us a visit throughout the week was amazed at the house, facilities and wonderful location. You appear to have thought of everything and it was so appreciated - the children loved the TV, the teenagers had the X-box set up in the annex, the men played games in the hallway and of course the girls sat drinking wine in the wonderful kitchen. Then when it got dark we ventured outside for star gazing! We will be back at some point, my partner has a 50th on the horizon and we are already planning that. February 2015
We have re-booked already! by Griffin on December 4th 2014
We loved the setting of the house and the view and also the large lounge and the space that was available. We have already re-booked for 2015! December 2015
Our expectations were more than fulfilled by Watkin group on November 28th 2014
We all enjoyed our stay very much and our expectations were more than fulfilled. The lounge was particularly comfortable for our large group and the entertainment systems excellent (although I think we only made use of the TV but Sky sports was popular and the recording facilities). The kitchen, dining room and bedrooms were all excellent too, as well as the more than adequate crockery, etc. and games. The large hall and stone floors worked well for minimizing dirty feet problems and keeping the dogs under control and it was useful to have the outside tap and hosepipe.
Great sitting room with wood burner by Howes on October 17th 2014
The location is great - excellent walks direct from the front door, and (if you have the energy), you can walk to two pubs. The house is very well equipped - two TVs both with Sky Sports and wi fi. The beds are fine and the showers good. A great sitting room with a wonderful wood burner, and a fine dining room with seats for everyone round a huge table. October 2014
Walks by the River Dove by Thompson on October 13th 2014
(We liked) the walks by the River Dove, the large rooms and well equipped kitchen. October 2014
Location was perfect by Parker on September 5th 2014
The location was perfect, from the view outside the front door to Polly's cafe down the lane. We're into walking so this was a great place for us. The living room was a fantastic size where we could all relax in the evening. We do a lot of cooking too so the kitchen was fab. September 2014
Lovely cottage in beautiful location by Taylor on August 19th 2014
Valley view is a lovely cottage in a beautiful location. There is plenty of room for large parties to sleep and eat and plenty of activities provided (Watching Premiership football on Sky Sports was an unexpected bonus!) Cellphone reception requires a walk up a very steep hill or a 5 minute drive but this just offers an excuse to get out and see the picturesque surroundings. Local pubs are great and the number of local towns and attractions are perfect to keep you busy. I will look at Valley View first next time I am booking a large family holiday. August 2014 Fogg group
We hope to return! by The Paddock's January 2014 on August 13th 2014

Amazing views and walks by Fogg group July 2014 on August 13th 2014
We liked the amazing views and walks that were right on our doorstep, we had everything that we needed, it was a home from home. There was plenty of space and Wendy was very helpful and patient with all our questions.

Ample room for all of us by Tear on March 13th 2014
It was a wonderful family get together for our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. Probably the most memorable aspect was all the family around one table ... also we had a lovely day at nearby Ilam Park and a very good family meal out at the Knockerdown Inn near Carsington Water. Spacious accommodation, there was ample room for all of us, very cosy and comfortable, comfortable beds, very good kitchen and bathroom facilities. The location is beautiful, in fact quite stunning. Great location! by Neil Thompson on September 13th 2013
Great location. Plenty of room and seating (particularly in the lounge). Wood burning stove with plenty of firewood available. Well equipped kitchen, plenty of fridge space and fridge in utility room was especially useful for keeping drinks cool. Separate Annex accommodation allowed us space and time to relax plus a bathroom all to ourselves.
A truly special holiday by Andrew Barden on July 26th 2013
We had an absolutely fabulous time. The location was out-of-this-world beautiful and the cottage couldn't have been better suited for our three generations of family. You probably want to check on those ducks and see if they can still float; our kids were down there every morning to feed them. It was a truly special holiday for us all and we loved the place.
