Property Details

Triangle Cottage is on the site of Tawstock’s former village cider cottage. It is a lovely rural retreat away from the hurly burly of modern life for a family or group of friends. The village, a conservation area, has a historic manor and thirteenth century church with some of the finest monuments in Devon. The church includes a sensitive restoration in 1867 by Sir George Gilbert Scott.

The cottage offers easy access to the beautiful North Devon coast and sandy beaches at Instow, Westward Ho!, Croyde and Saunton Sands. With its proximity to the South West Coast Path, Exmoor and the Tarka Trail, Tawstock is well located for walking (village and further afield) and cycling holidays. Garden lovers can enjoy visits to nearby RHS Rosemoor and Marwood Gardens.

There are beautiful country-side or village views from all rooms in the cottage. On the ground floor there is spacious entrance hall with room for prams and coats/boots, an inner hall which leads to a double aspect lounge and dining room. The lounge has two sofas, TV, DVD/ recorder and VHS and there is also a second TV, DVD player and quiet seating corner in the dining room. The dining room opens out through French windows to a raised deck with far reaching rural views and steps down into the garden.

In the well-equipped kitchen there is a dishwasher but you will not mind doing the washing up yourself as the view from the sink across the fields to the woods is absorbing. There is a double electric oven (with fan), fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, and washing machine (tumbler available in the garage).

On the first floor there are 2 double bed rooms and a large double aspect bedroom with four single beds (two of the singles are high level bunks). The main bedroom and large bedroom have built in storage and wash hand basins. Off the landing there is a shower room, recently refurbished to a high standard. There is a further fully fitted bathroom on the ground floor.

The front garden has a paved drive with parking for 2-3 cars and flower borders. The rear garden is overlooked by the deck. It is stepped with lawns and flower borders, a quiet seating area and a sheltered, sunken barbecue area. It is perfect for watching the sunset on a peaceful summer’s evening.

Triangle is a much loved holiday cottage with a number of guests regularly returning for a relaxing break in this beautiful corner of North Devon.

Included: Heating, Electricity, Internet, Cleaning and Bed linen but please bring your own towels.

Other facilities: High Chair, Children’s Toy Box and Library, Books, Board Games and Jigsaws, Hairdryer, Garden Furniture, Barbecue, Outside Rotary Drying Line.

Rental Details:

Changeover day is Friday but can be flexible out of peak weeks subject to cleaning arrangements. The cottage is available from 4pm on the first day and must be vacated by 10am on last day of rental.

Rental prices are in GBP. A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the rental is required at time of booking and the balance 8 weeks prior to holiday. A refundable breakages and damages deposit of £100 is required with the balancing payment. If the letting date is within 8 weeks of the booking then full payment is required.

Short breaks are available out of peak weeks (3 nights 70%, 4 nights 75%, 5 nights 80%, 6 nights 90% of weekly rental. A couple's discount (2 people) of 10% is available on weekly rates of £350-£550.

"We love Triangle cottage, and we keep returning because it is such a great place for a family holiday. Our kids love the garden and the bunkbeds, and spotting the wildlife in the surrounding area. There are lots of great places to visit within easy reach, and each time we go we've found new things to do. All round its a wonderful place to stay. Highly recommended."
