Located on the small Combrew Farm estate, guests at this pet friendly cottage have access to superb leisure facilities including an indoor swimming pool, tennis court, spa, sauna, gym and play areas.
Tuckers Retreat combines traditional cottage character features with contemporary furnishings, creating a comfortable an extremely well-quipped holiday home for couples or a small family. Tuckers Retreat has two bedrooms (one en-suite), a double with an impressive king-size double bed, 32-inch LED TV and lovely garden views, and a twin bedroom. A fully-equipped bathroom with an invigorating power shower is also on tis floor.
The ground floor is light and airy, unusual for a traditional cob-built cottage, but very welcome, comprising a kitchen-diner and a lounge. The kitchen is fitted with contemporary appliance including a fan oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and a washer-drier. A door leads from the kitchen to an enclosed private patio with outdoor dining facilities for summer days and balmy summer evenings on the Taw Estuary. The lounge has a wood-burner, creating a snug, warm and cosy ambience in cooler seasons as well as a 42-inch TV with DVD player.
There are plenty of leisure facilities at Combrew to entertain you throughout your holiday. These include an indoor heated hydrothereapy swimming pool, an indoor badminton court, gym, spa and sauna and a games room to keep everyone happy even if it rains. Combrew Farm is very close to The Tarka Trail, a 40-mile long cycle and footpath that runs from Ilfracombe through Barnstaple and Bideford and beyond along the Taw and Torridge Estuaries almost to Dartmoor. It’s built on an old railway line so it is easy and wonderfully scenic cycling for all, with some lovely cafes, pubs and even beaches along the way. There are bicycles at Combrew for hire if you are unable to bring your own bikes.
Combrew lies within easy reach of some lovely beaches, seaside resorts and fishing villages, all the way along the North Devon coast from Clovelly to Ilfracombe, including the award-winning surf and sand beaches of Croyde, Woolacombe and Saunton Sands. There are many small family friendly attractions from farm theme parks and Go-Karting to National Trust properties, golf courses, and opportunities for day sailing trips to Lundy Island departing from the Quay at Bideford. Stay for a fortnight and you’ll still leave without having enjoyed everything that North Devon has to offer its visitors throughout the year.
