Beautiful, 2-bedroom barn conversion with Wi-Fi located in Braunton sleeping 4, the perfect place for a family getaway on the North Devon coast, being just a 5-minute drive to the beach at Saunton Sands. Onsite, you will find a terrace along with almost an acre of gardens.
Only a 5 minute drive to the nearest beach, Braunton is an ideal spot if you want to explore the North Devon Coastline. Kittiwake Cottage reflects the coast in it's décor with neutral and blue colours as theme throughout the modern barn conversion. It is a great cottage for a family holiday as it sleeps up to 4 people in 2 rooms and will even take one well-behaved dog! You will find a plethora of attractions under a half an hour's drive from Kittiwake Cottage so you will always have something to do.
The living area, kitchen and dining area are all open plan which gives a real airy, spacious feel and really modernises the barn conversion. The living area is tastefully decorated with a stylish wicker-detailed sofa along with a matching armchair for your evenings in to watch a film on the Smart TV (with access to Netflix and Iplayer). French doors open out to a Juliette balcony which brings in an abundance of light. In the summer months you can open the doors up and let in the warm fresh air and in the colder seasons you can warm yourself up in front of the wood-stove.
The kitchen sits in the middle of the living area and the dining area and carries through the contemporary feel. Pastel blue tiles decorate the walls along with the warm coloured work units and cupboards. The kitchens appliances include a dishwasher, an oven with an electric hob, a fridge, a freezer and a washing machine. You will also have a Nespresso coffee machine provided with complimentary pods.
Kittiwake's dining area consists of a circular dining table along with 4 wooden chairs, all painted different shades of blue to give a quirky feel to the area. They sit next to double frosted patio doors which also bring in a lot of light to the room.
In bedroom 1 your main focus will be the gorgeous French style, antique bed which sits below the sloped ceiling and wooden beam features. There is also plenty of storage in the bedroom, with a chest of drawers and a very large, ornamental wardrobe.
Adjoined to bedroom 1 is its beautiful en-suite. The walls of the bathroom are covered in pretty, pale blue tiles with a mirror above the circular hand-wash basin; this sits on a marble counter for a luxurious style. There is a large walk-in shower as well as a heated towel rail and a toilet.
Bedroom 2 is a light and cosy twin room which is very flexible, dependant on whether it is for a family or for a couple. The beds are zip and link so they can be made up to either a double or two twins, whichever you would prefer. The theme of the rest of the cottage is no different to this room as it has fresh white walls and lovely character furniture to compliment the room.
Bedroom 2's en-suite is very similar to bedroom 1's, again decorated in the pale blue tiles and it too has a large walk-in shower. There is also a round hand basin, a heated towel rail and a loo. A decorative built-in wardrobe and shelves are part of the modern bathroom, giving plenty of space for storage.
If you want to enjoy a drink in the sun then you could sit at the antique metal table and chairs out on the courtyard, to the front of Kittiwake Cottage. You could even enjoy an evening meal out beside the bright flowers of the courtyard.
Just beyond the courtyard there is nearly an acre of gardens to roam about and discover; there is even a beautiful apple orchard. A little river runs at the edge of the garden, the perfect place to sit and have a picnic.
Saunton Sands is the nearest beach to Kittiwake, with only a 7 minute drive to get there. Saunton is an ideal surfing spot and surfing lessons are available locally. Most parts of Saunton are dog friendly so you can bring your pet along too. Other nearby beaches include Croyde, Woolacombe and many others.
The nearest Town (just over a 10 minute drive) you will find will be Barnstaple; the hub of North Devon. This is a great place to visit whatever the weather. You can look around many big named shops such as TK Maxx, Banburys, Topshop, Next, River Island and many more. There is a great deal of choice when it comes to having a bite to eat, whether you want a full course meal or just a quick snack. There is also plenty of attractions to visit in Barnstaple: Scott Cinemas, The Queens Theatre, Let's Go! are just some examples of places to visit in Barnstaple.
