The Devon village of Galmpton is located in the borough of Torbay, on the English Riviera. Self-catering holidays in Galmpton are a great opportunity to experience Devon traditions such as the village’s annual Gooseberry Pie Fair, and Torbay Steam Fair. Just north of the village, Broadsands Beach is a beautiful sweep of sand where swimming, sunbathing and sandcastle-building are popular activities. The bay is backed by parkland, and low-tide reveals a maze of rockpools where you can hunt for crabs. Nearby, Elberry Cove is a lovely shingle beach backed by wooded hills. South of the village, there are many scenic walks to be enjoyed along the banks of the River Dart, at Galmpton Creek.

The countryside surrounding Galmpton holiday cottages is dotted with historic sites such as the former residence of crime writer Agatha Christie, Greenway House and Gardens. The Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway is another popular attraction, with a station at Churston, less than a mile from Galmpton. Nearby, you will find an excellent golf course, a go-kart circuit and a pitch and putt green. The charming resorts of Torquay and Paignton are a short drive northward.
