Grandad's is a self-contained ground floor annexe within a large Grade 2 listed thatched farmhouse at Stonehayes Farm in East Devon. It overlooks the courtyard and has its own private garden area having seating and BBQ facilities. It is located within easy reach of the other cottages if being used in conjunction with a larger family booking, but is also perfect for couples looking for a romantic bolthole in the country.
The centrally heated living areas comprise a nicely furnished lounge with leather sofa, digital TV and DVD, a well-equipped oak-floored kitchen having granite worktops, a dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave and fridge.
Bathroom facilities comprise a walk-in wet room with shower, WC and basin.
The bedroom has good-sized double bed, wardrobe and storage space.
All utility services, bed linen, bath, face and tea-towels are included in the price. Also included is a tasty welcome pack containing free-range eggs from the farm's chickens, fresh milk, wine, bread, butter and, in season, the farm's own sausages.
Grandad's is one of 5 cottages at Stonehayes Farm where guests can lose themselves in 17-acres of stream-bordered fields in beautiful countryside. There are other picnic and BBQ areas around the farm including sites under the trees overlooking the river that meanders through the grounds.
Stonehayes is just outside the village of Combe Raleigh, 3 miles from the lovely market town of Honiton. It is also within an easy drive of some picturesque seaside resorts such as Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Beer and Branscombe. Staying inland, a visit to Exeter with its magnificent cathedral or one of the many National Trust properties in the area is also highly recommended.
Pets and smoking are not permitted.
