Property Details

Abigail's Cottage has only recently been fully refurbished into a wonderful two bedroom, couple and family friendly home.

Situated in the village of Northam on the North Devon coast, the cottage is only a short walk from the famous Burrows, as well as the beach, which stretches all the way round to Westward Ho!.

Comfortably accommodating up to 6, Abigail's provides something for everyone no matter what their age. The quirky cottage has lots of style and plenty of charm, and although it appears a little underwhelming from the front, inside it is spectacular. The cottage also has a wonderful raised terrace garden that is a lovely sun trap on sunny summer afternoons, and is perfect for alfresco dinners and BBQ's.

The large and spacious lounge is nice and bright with pale walls and tiled floors. The sofa-bed and arm chairs are wonderfully squishy and great for cosy winter evenings spent in front of the fire, as well as for watching TV and taking advantage of the cottage's WiFi.

At the rear of the cottage is a stunning kitchen/dinner that again is bright and airy with plenty of light flooding in from the windows. The kitchen has been equipped to a high standard with the hand crafted wood units and country dresser housing a number of pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. Appliances in the kitchen include a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and oven with gas hob. A nice dining area features a round pine table that easily seats up to five and a high chair.

Upstairs at Abigail's there are two bedrooms. The Master with double bed benefits from a lovely en-suite featuring classic roll top bath, WC and hand wash basin. The second bedroom overlooking the front of the cottage is a wonderfully flexible room that can be adapted to suit guests needs and requirements. Normally a triple with two singles and additional day bed this bedroom can also be a double thanks to linkable beds, as well as a family room. A family shower room is situated between the two bedrooms.

Abigail's is ideally located for exploring North Devon's golden beaches and coastline. Just a mile away are the Northam Burrows, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and also one of the entrances to Westward Ho! beach. The Burrows are great for enjoying walks and picnics, and is also home to the country's oldest golf course, The Royal North Devon.

Located just a short drive away are the villages of Appledore where you can sample some of the local seafood or a Hockings ice-cream, and Clovelly a pretty seaside village with harbour and famous cobbled street. Other places to visit include Bideford, where you can hob on board a boat bound for Lundy Island and North Devon's largest town Barnstaple. This lovely town has its own cinema, theatre, leisure centre and Pannier Market.

Children staying at Abigail's will also be in heaven with the Big Sheep less than a 15 minute drive, as well as the Milky Way and blue flag beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton all close by.
