Stunning new barn conversion with spectacular views
Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Chisel Barn is a new conversion designed and fitted to the highest standards. The barn consists of two, light and airy properties that, if rented together, will accommodate ten people. Both properties are single storey, with a large double height kitchen and living space.
Chisel Barn Foxditch retains many original features including exposed beams and vaulted ceilings. The property has two bedrooms, both with en suite bathrooms, plus a cloakroom. The furnished terrace is the ideal place to relax and admire the spectacular views.
The barns at Chisel Farm were once the base for a large and successful dairy enterprise. They still remain part of a working farm, with the adjoining buildings still being used for stock.
The magnificent and commanding views look over the River Stour valley, the dairy pastures of the Blackmore Vale and the churches of Shillingstone and Child Okeford to the south and west, and the Iron Age forts of Hambledon Hill to the north and Hod Hill to the east. A short walk across the farm takes you through a wood and past a lake to the excellent amenities of Child Okeford, or up the steep slopes to the top of Hambledon Hill where, on a clear day, there are views for many miles. Hambledon Hill is a classic example of an Iron Age hill fort and is now a National Nature Reserve famous for its wild flowers.
This is just one of many and varied walks which also include the Trailway along the old Somerset and Dorset Railway (and the newly restored Shillingstone station) to Sturminster Newton and Blandford Forum.

THE PERFECT CITY ESCAPE by Lyndon Kay, Brithonon 08/06/2015 on February 6th 2017
Foxditch was an ideal location to relax and get away from city life. Very peaceful location and surrounding countryside was lovely. Did lots of day trips - Shaftesbury, Lyme Regis, Weymouth, Street and Thomas Hardy's cottage. The dog loved being outside all the time. Great location and a very enjoyable stay.
A LOVELY PEACEFUL PLACE by Janet Dunn, Kidderminster on 17/01/2016 on February 6th 2017
We stayed in Chisel Barn Foxditch for 5 very peaceful days. The accommodation was superb. Key was easy to find & we were very impressed with the bread, eggs, butter, milk etc.---no charge! when we arrived. There was everything you could possibly want in the kitchen, & of very good quality. The manager called in the evening to see if we had any problems which we did'nt but the were nearby if we needed them. We will certainly stay there again. A really lovely place to stay for adult groups or families.
