A beautiful Grade II listed property in the village of Maiden Newton, Dorset, Mill House is an ideal South West holiday retreat for large families and groups of friends.

Mill House sits next to the village’s historic mill and whilst decorated with stylish French interior, it oozes character and maintains some of the property’s original features, including stone walls and flooring. This child-friendly cottage features a first-floor games room with pool table and six bedrooms to allow up to 12 guests to spread out comfortably.

Upon entering Mill House, you find the sitting area complete with open fire and comfortable sofas, whilst directly opposite is the snug with fireplace, Freeview TV, and more seating. Both rooms have doors leading out to the large enclosed garden with patio and barbecue area. The large kitchen comes fully equipped to make preparing family meals a snap, whilst the dining room has plenty of seating.

The top two floors of this pet-friendly cottage feature Mill House’s six stylish bedrooms, three each on the first and second floors, including a double with feature fireplace and two twins also with feature fireplaces. Two first-floor bathrooms, one with a rolltop bath, complete the accommodation.

Mill House sits adjacent to a picturesque stream that fed the old mill for Maiden Newton, home to the Church of St. Mary, with a church door thought to be the oldest wooden church door in England.

Nearby lies the county town of Dorchester with its Roman ruins and Maiden Castle, the largest hillfort in England. Weymouth, the gateway to the Jurassic Coast and home to the Sea Life Centre and Adventure Park and one of Dorset’s most beautiful beaches, is a half-hour drive away.
