Excellent service from the owners from the initial enquiry through to the departure time. The cottage has everything you could possibly need. Loved eating out although we often chose lunch time meals in cafes rather than pubs and found a few closed as it was out of season. We loved Billy Whizz (Portland), Hive Beach (Burton Bradstock), West Bay tea rooms (West Bay), Good Life Cafe (Weymouth) and Colonnial (Abbotsbury Gardens). Without a doubt though the best was the tea rooms at Upwey Wishing Well. Outstanding!

Chelsea Cottage is situated on our working dairy farm on the outskirts of Rodden, a short distance away from the stunning Chesil Beach and Fleet Lagoon on Dorset's Jurrasic Coast. The cottage is surrounded by open fields in which you are free to walk and join the many public foot paths and indeed the Coastal Footpath runs very close to the cottage. 5 miles to the east is the seaside town of Weymouth which has a beautiful sandy beach and lovely safe and shallow water.
3 miles to the west is the village of Abbotsbury famous for its Swannery and Sub-tropical gardens. A little bit further on is the village of West Bay which was the location for the popular ITV series Broadchurch. Here you will find the stunning beach and cliffs which often formed the backdrop to the program. The market town of Dorchester is a 15 minute drive away and is worth a visit, particularly to Brewery Square which is a new developement featuring an Odeon Cinema and many eating places such as Nandos, Pizza Express, Cotes, Zizzis and Waggamamas. Dorset is a fantastic place to explore and there are many country houses and gardens to visit. Also Monkey World, the Tank Museum at Bovingdon, Go Ape, Brenscombe Outdoor Center with its exhilarating high ropes and numerous beaches should keep all busy.

We had a wonderful stay in Chelsea cottage and couldn't have wished for a nicer place to stay.
Happy Returning Guests
May 26th 2018
We have made four visits over the last 5 years to Chelsea Cottage and we are likely to return again for motorcycling touring holidays. Anne is always very friendly and helpful and makes us very welcome. Well done and thanks! Tips for other travellers Two pubs in Chickerell have a good range of meals. The Turks Head has more parking but The Lugger is normally OK.
Cosy and Comfortable
May 16th 2018
Chelsea Cottage is cosy and comfortable and was ideal for our group of five adults and a toddler. We were able to enjoy the lovely garden as the weather was good all week. Our granddaughter particularly loved visiting the cows on the farm! It was nice to meet Mrs Mayo who popped to see us a couple of times to check everything was alright. Tips for other travellers We can recommend the Club House for an evening meal. The food is excellent and the restaurant is by the beach with a wonderful view. We would have liked a meal at the Hive Cafe but it doesn’t open in the evenings until the end of May. Lunch service had just finished on the day we went but the menu looked great. The Elm Tree Inn in Langton Herring was okay, the food was fine but the inn lacks atmosphere. Convenient though. Lyme Regis makes a good day out, as does the Bovington Tank Museum if you are interested in that. If you go to Portland stop at the Heights Hotel for a coffee for fantastic views of Chesil Beach
