Gamekeepers Manor is a truly magnificent, grand house on the edge of Southburn Dene, just a couple of miles from the centre of Chester-le-Street and five miles north of the historic city of Durham.

This property is fantastic for a group of friends or extended family gathering together for that special occasion.

As you glide through the electric gates and behold Gamekeepers Manor you will realise you are arriving at a dream holiday home.

The reception hall has a splendid handmade oak staircase as its centrepiece.

To the right of the entrance hall there is a formal dining room and from here, step into the fabulous designer kitchen with range cooker, granite worktops and everything you could desire to rustle up a gourmet supper.

The dining room is a fantastic place for the whole group to get together and have a celebratory meal or simply take a long leisurely breakfast.

To the left of the entrance hall is the drawing room with exquisite furnishings, soft cream carpet, sumptuous sofas, French windows and a stone fireplace with a woodburner.

To the rear of Gamekeepers Manor you will find your way into a cosy sitting room with comfortable sofas and a gas fire, perfect for a breakaway group to sit and catch up.

For the younger members of the party there’s a games room with a pool and snooker table, what better way to keep them occupied whilst the adults relax in the main drawing room.

Once you have reached the first floor landing, you have the choice of six lovely bedrooms, over the first or second floor providing a restful night’s sleep for the whole party after a long day exploring this beautiful county.

The French doors lead out to just over an acre of beautiful, mature gardens.

There’s also a fantastic patio with furniture and a hot tub where you can have a soak and some fizz whilst enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the lovely grounds.

Not many will want to leave this fabulous mansion, but there’s so much to see and do just a short distance away it would be a shame not to.

The city of Durham is tantalisingly close with its historical cathedral, theatre, restaurants, inns and shops.

There are many exciting destinations within easy reach, the Roman town of Chester-le-Street, Beamish Museum and the Durham Dales.

A little further afield there is the MetroCentre in Newcastle upon Tyne and Hadrian's Wall to explore.

For those with more energy, there is the Heritage Coast to visit with Cragside at Rothbury and the North Yorkshire Moors for the less faint-hearted.
