Nestling in the pleasingly sleepy village of Sanction, (once described by a delighted guest as like a real-life set from a Miss Marple film), this period self catering cottage is only a short walk from a multi-award winning gastro pub perfect for those who don't want to spend every night in the kitchen.
The cottage is close to the centre of the village on a quiet side road and has plenty of space for off-road parking.
In summer and on warm evenings, relax on the enclosed south-facing patio on seats surrounded by fragrant lavender and rose bushes and a lawn. The front of the house offers lovely rural views across hay meadows and the picturesque village church.
Marmaduke Cottage has been sympathetically restored to retain the best of its period features such as exposed oak beams, wooden sash windows, quarry-tiled flooring and a cast iron fire place for a cosy fire on a chilly evenings.
Furnishings also reflect the period feel offering a cosy and comfortable ambience throughout, making it a lovely place to put your feet up and unwind after a day discovering the idyllic Lincolnshire Wolds or a trop to the beach on the East Coast.
Stairs lead to a double bedroom with pine wardrobes and a view of the church, and a pretty single bedroom that looks out across the cottage garden.
The cottage bathroom with bath, WC and washbasin also retains the cottage-feel with shuttered window, wood panelling and sloping eaves.
Please note the stairs in the cottage are the originals and, as such, they are quite steep.
