Ford Hill Cottage

Beautifully Furnished Country Cottage Sleeping 6

Ford Hill Cottage is a beautiful three-bedroom home-away-from-home. Accommodating up to six, it is perfect for families, friends, and couples looking to enjoy self-catering holidays in North Devon.

Ford Hill is only a short drive from the breathtaking coastline and the Exmoor National Park in the rolling Devon hills.

Tastefully decorated throughout, Ford Hill has a lovely sense of character, style, and charm.

On the cottage's ground floor is an open-plan living room featuring a large sofa, armchairs, a TV with a DVD player and a lovely wood burner.

The kitchen has recently been completely refurbished with lovely light pastel colours and wood floors. The kitchen has a Rangemaster cooker, a coffee machine, a fridge/fridge/freezer, a washing machine and a dishwasher. A handy island divides the kitchen from the lounge, with a sink and more cupboards.

Upstairs at the cottage are three very good-sized bedrooms, all decorated in calming shades of blue and green. The bedrooms include a pretty twin, a lovely double and a stunning Master with an en-suite shower room. A family bathroom also has a bath, loo and wash-hand basin.

The cottage has two terrace areas; the first is a small courtyard terrace situated to the front of Ford Hill, where the early morning sun can be captured. To the rear of the cottage, taking advantage of the evening sun, is a large enclosed terrace with a BBQ.

Ford Hill also has a beautiful garden with far-reaching views and a large beech tree for shade in the summer months.

New for 2016 is a fully heated games room in the refurbished garage. The games room features comfy sofas and bean bags ideal for watching the widescreen TV with surround sound, a pool table, table football and bike racks.

Ford Hill is located in the quaint rural village of Kentisbury on the outskirts of Combe Martin and Exmoor. Kentisbury has its own church and service station, doubling as the village store and post office.

At Kentisbury Grange, only a mile away, is a Michael Caine restaurant where special occasions can be celebrated and romantic meals enjoyed. Other local pubs and restaurants are also widely available within a few miles of the cottage, including The Pyne Arms and Fox and Goose.

Combe Martin has a range of shops and places to eat, but its number one feature is its beach, which is situated in a pretty cove.

Around Combe Martin, many different walks suit all abilities, including those along the South West Coast Path and across Exmoor. For a day of cycling, the Tarka Trail can be picked up in either Barnstaple or Braunton and other outdoor activities, like horse riding and coasteering, are widely available.

Please note Ford Hill Cottage has multiple interior levels and a steepish staircase leading to the bedrooms.

Just The Best!

What can we say?! Except that this is the best, well equipped cottage that we’ve ever been to! From the kitchen to the bedrooms to the BBQ. We’ve come armed with a Nespresso machine, a wok, baking trays, charcoal for the BBQ and we didn’t have to use any of them as all were provided in the cottage. A beautiful cottage, quiet location and thoughtfully done up. We will definitely visit again. And the owner, Janet, 'rocks’ - she’s so enthusiastic, full of energy and very friendly and welcoming.

I did not want to leave!

We truly had a lovely time in Ford Hill Cottage, together with my friend and we commend you on offering such a well appointed cottage. A joy to stay there and obviously I did not want to leave!

just Excellent!

Excellent stay!! The cottage is wonderful, clean (a must for us), stylish and comfortable. A home from home. Will recommend to all we know. We will be back, no doubt. Thank you for an excellent holiday.

Spacious and Comfortable

My brother and I really like this cottage because there are lots of spacious areas and the garden is perfect for us to play in. The beds are really comfortable and we enjoyed watching our DVD's during rainy evenings. I would definately come back and stay here. Thank you.

Georgous home comforts!

We've loved our Devon half term break here at Ford Hill. Thank you both for the very warm welcome, over-generous welcome pack of goodies and all the extras (including the abundance of logs which has kept Bruce occupied)! Gorgeous home comforts. You have refurbished the cottage beautifully. We still have so much to see and do so hope to be back soon!
