The hot tub was good but requires the jets cleaning as some were not working correctly. The area around the hot tub would benefit from a clean up, however, these are just minor details as the property was excellent and set in beautiful surroundings

  • "This was our 2nd stay at Cedar Lodge and we absolutely love it."

A peaceful, beautiful cosy cottage, and the large hot tub is a massive bonus. The kitchen has everything you need. Down to the little touches, like the little bathroom wash packs, and the kitchen pack with washing up liquid, scourer and dishwasher tablets. Along with all that was a lovely local food and drink hamper to enjoy. The only thing that was a bit disappointing, the place was a bit dusty, the main bedroom more than anything. I had to wipe the headboard down before we got into it. As we're the bedside units and some of the windowsills and skylights needed a bit of attention around the cottage. Other than the cottage was clean, the large fluffy towels were so nice, and plenty of them if you needed. The site itself is beautiful. The reception staff always polite and helpful. We ate in the restaurant a couple of times and had drinks in the bar. But hardly any staff around downstairs, sometimes we was kept waiting 10/15 mins to get a drink. The food in the restaurant was superb, and reasonably priced, would definitely go again. The spa area is just so relaxing and the pool is lovely and warm. We will definitely be returning again in the winter months.

  • "Lovely property - nice and private."

Have stayed here twice now. Pool great if not a tad cold! House could do with a bit of updating - not much kitchen equipment, blunt knives, no salt and pepper. Some of the lights don’t work, particularly the one above the hot tub so bit risky at night. Hot tub lovely and kept clean. Beds are really really hard. Could do with mattress toppers. Shame you can’t bring dogs, it would be a perfect holiday home for us if you could.

  • "The swimming pool is far from the property."

Mobile signal zero in that area. Very little things owner put in bathrooms. Like every bathroom only 1 tissue roll in each bathroom. 3 dishwasher tablets in kitchen lack of utensils in kitchen no oil etc

Bit disappointing to get these comments. 1) The swimming pool is 206 yards from the Lodge - Hustyns have a web site and we email every client with details of the site along with a map. Its a shame that this family found 206 yards too far. 2) Every bathroom has a toilet roll along with shampoo conditioner and soap which is normal in holiday lodges. 3) Three dishwasher tablets is usually enough for a family for 1 week. Have never had any issues with this before. 4) No oil !!! We leave a very large welcome pack with all kinds of goodies - I note there was no mention of this. How many different kinds of oil do we leave? As with all people going on a SELF CATERING holiday if you want oil you need to take it with you or buy it locally. 5) This booking was over Christmas so we went out of our way to decorate the lodge with a Christmas tree and other decorations. Also left were a large box of crackers, a box of "Heroes" and a bottle of sparkling wine in addition to the large welcome pack we leave with loads of Cornish produce. I NOTE THAT THERE WAS NO MENTION OF THIS OR ANY APPRECIATION OF ALL THE EXTRAS Property Owner

  • "Didn't like having to get in the car to take our rubbish to the bins then trying to lift the lid on the big red bins, could there be recycling areas closer like the lodges on the site have then, would only have a small amount to go in the other bins, apart from that we had a great stay, lovely and quiet, hot tub great, outdoor furniture could do with replacing."

Once we got to grips with the washing machine all was well. Bedrooms comfortably and spacious, lovely big bathrooms. Over all a great place to stay

  • "Absolutely fantastic."

The cottage itself is far better than the pictures make it out to be, especially the living space/dinning room area. Location is great, and the service from the agency who look after the property was really great too - they arranged everything perfectly, spotlessly clean, and had everything we could need. Great job, thanks so much for letting us stay here.

The host left us a beautiful welcome package. The facilities were a great bonus to have. The hot tub was absolutely amazing. Only issue we had was a few cobwebs in the bedroom but that was easily dealt with. The entire property is well equipped wand lots of useful instructions on how to work everything. Would definitely stay again. It’s a lovely lodge and great location for exploring Cornwall.

Only issue was access road to venue, although we followed owners instructions not to use SAT NAV, the access road from Wadebidge is a narrow lane with only a few passing places - relieved my husband and was driving ! Other than this, a lovely stay.

  • "The Lodge was very roomy and bedding, towels were very clean and the beds were made up and welcoming."

This was the plus side. As a multi-generational family on holiday, I expect: 1. A washer dryer that is user friendly so that we can do our washing and make sure we can take it home clean and dry. This is what we are always prepared to pay extra for! The one in the Lodge definitely wasn’t! The manual in the Lodge did not refer the the appliance installed and on download sent to us by the owner required a technology degree to find out if we could use the dryer separately! We couldn’t apparently! 2. Not to find crumbs on the floor and grease on the hob! I don’t expect to have to resolve this myself. 3. Not to have to resolve the rinse aid light on the dishwasher before use! We went and bought some and I left the remainder of the bottle in the Lodge for someone else to benefit. 4. At least one shower to have a grab rail so that those less able have something to hold on to! 5. ALL of the heated towel rails should have been in full working order, not just ONE which could not be properly thermostatically controlled! 6. The shower doors should not be coming off the rails when you use the showers. I would like to say though that the local management company were very good and at least answer their phones very efficiently. Unfortunately the maintenance men sent were not able to resolve items 4, 5 and 6 above so those renting after us will have the same issues. Also, it is my understanding that under Covid-19 guidance all toys and books should have been removed from the Lodge. They were not.

  • "The property wasn't particularly clean."

There was approximately a dozen cigarette ends outside on the floor. The bins outside were full when we arrived and next morning animals had been rummaging and rubbish was all over the floor. The money we paid for the cottage for the week, should of been in tip top condition. Unfortunatelybit wasn't. Regards Steven Byrne

  • "Great cottage and location, although the very narrow roads on the way to it once you go through Wadebridge town, might put us off from going again We didn't feel confident going out at night to look for eating places because of the single track roads in parts (no lighting on these roads)."

It was bad enough meeting traffic during the day when we had to try to reverse to find somewhere for oncoming cars to pass. However it is a good base to see north Cornwall. We only had one toilet roll in each bathroom so take some with you, and we had to buy bin bags and dishwasher tablets as there were only 2 of each. There's only a single toaster so you will just need to be patient if there's 6 of you. :-) For a cottage that size we would expect a 4 slice toaster but that's just a very minor point. Hot tub great and comfy beds. There were extra towels for the hot tub. We enjoyed our stay and the owner sent us very useful information before we arrived. Thank you.
