  • "Lovely property and setting, We enjoyed a lovely walk from the cottage along the Thames and Severn Way towards Sapperton."

The access road to the cottage is very steep and narrow, so confidence, experience and a vehicle that isn’t too big is helpful!!

Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay at October Cottage. We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and from the sounds of it you made the most of the lovely walks on your door step. We would love to welcome you back again very soon. • "I was ill during our stay unfortunately so we could only stay 2 nights instead of the 4 that we paid for, however the owner of the cottage (who was unfortunately away that week) was kind enough send a text to ask after me."

In any case we would have not have felt encouraged to venture out in the car as access to the cottage was through a very steep, windy and narrow lane that we were quite relieved we only had to tackle twice!

Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay at October Cottage. I'm sorry to hear you where taken ill during your stay and had to cut it short, i do hope you managed to see some of the lovely sites the Cotswolds has to offer before you left. Perfect for our weekend break. As with most photos, the size does not come across - this is a little cottage so don't pack too much. Having said that the location is fabulous and very relaxing. Best bit? The log fire with a glass of something and a good book. Enjoy!

Thank you for your positive comments, we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and were able to make time to relax in front of the fire. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "The cottage was beautiful, very comfortable and warm."

The bed is the most comfortable I have ever slept in. I loved the beautiful quality crockery, it was a really nice touch. We booked the cottage because of the log burner but we were very inexperienced and could not get it to stay lit, sadly we didn’t ask for advice until our last day. The cottage was everything I hoped for and more.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are delighted that you had such a comfortable stay. We are glad that you were finally able to master the log burner with some help. We hope we can welcome you back again. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "We and our dog had a lovely stay here ."

It's a fantastic quaint cottage with everything you could ask for. In a quiet secluded lane. Greeted with cake and a bottle of wine and some milk was lovely after our drive. Lighting the log fire and didn't take long to warm the place up . The bathroom has a lovely walk in shower and toilet and sink . Kitchen had everything you could ask for . The only problem we had was we couldn't just let the dog out into the garden as the garden is across the cobbled drive way but it wouldn't stop us going back . Thank you for letting us enjoy your cottage and garden and for the extra logs for the fire. Hearing the owls at night was lovely.

Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay at October Cottage. It sounds like you had a wonderful time with your dog. Its a great spot to base yourself to explore the Cotswolds. We would love to welcome you back again in the future. Kind regards Manor Cottages. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely short break in October Cottage."

The kitchen is very well equipped and the lounge is cosy, especially with the log burner. Loads of logs and kindling in the massive log store. It is in a very peaceful position where you hear nothing apart from nature, including owls. I loved my daily chat with Ray the gardener a lovely man. I would recommend this cottage to anyone.

Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay at October Cottage. It sounds like you had a very relaxing stay with us, time to recharge the batteries. We would love to welcome you back again soon. Kind regards Manor Cottages. Property Owner

It was just the right size for the 2 of us. The bathroom was downstairs which for some people might be an inconvenience and was a bit cold. The directions from the main road could be better - we went up and down the lane 3 times!

  • "We have just returned from a 4 night stay at October Cottage."

Whilst this is, as previously stated, a compact cottage it was perfect for myself, husband, teenager and small dog. This really is a home away from home with everything you’ll need to enjoy your stay including comfy beds, usual mod cons and and a decent sized shower with slate floors and rugs. Hilary was a delight and very helpful without compromising our privacy. We arrived to fruit cake and wine, simply perfect. The cottage is perfectly situated for surrounding walks and attractions of the Cotswolds and the canal walk via Lavender cafe for amazing cake supplies is a must. Follow the canal for a pub lunch at the Daneway Inn before the hour or so long stroll back to Chalford! Although chapel cottage rental next door was occupied it may as well have been empty and certainly didn’t affect our stay! All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the charming October cottage which is a must for those seeking a perfectly chilled trip to the Cotswolds.

  • "This is a very quaint little cottage for two, would be squashy for more I think."

I hadnt appreciated there was an adjacent cottage (as well as the owners part of the house), which can overlook anywhere you choose to sit outside. The main part you want to sit in, is the car parking area right in front of the cottage so if the other cottage is occupied, their cars and yours completely block your view and pleasant sitting out area. There is a very nice wooded garden away from the house. Very cosy feel, fantastic woodburner, well equipped kitchen. Nice modern bathroom. The downstairs is all slate floored so very cold and hard, bring padded slippers. Lovely walks eg along the river to the various cafes. Very steep terrain all round.Lots to visit eg Minchinhampton Common. Helpful owners. Dont follow the directions given by Sykes, Go right straight away up the no through road as soon as you enter Old Neighbourhood.

Thank you for providing us with your feedback. We are happy to hear that you overall enjoyed your stay, taking advantage of the beautiful walks and property. We hope that the blocked views from other cars did not distract from your retreat, as we would love to welcome you back to October cottage any time in the future. The cottage was cosy and comfortable for a family of 3. The fireplace was great and well stocked with wood for us to use. The owner kindly left mince pies as a welcome snack for us. We heard the resident owl in the early hours of the morning of our departure. So beautiful to hear. We will definitely be back to enjoy another relaxing stay and more walks through the village.
