Bodalaw

Nestled in the heart of Snowdonia National Park in the Welsh highlands, the rural cottage of Bodalaw in Trawsfynydd, Gwynedd, is perfectly situated to explore all that North Wales has to offer.

Bodalaw is an early 19th-century, stone-built mid-terrace cottage that makes an ideal holiday resting spot. The countryside cottage retains much of its original character, including a stone inglenook fireplace and multi-fuel stove. The rear patio garden comes fully furnished with a barbeque and affords gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside and mountain views in the distance.

The two-bedroom, one-bathroom cottage comes with broadband WiFi, gas oven and hob, washing machine, and a flat-screen TV with DVD player. A high chair is available upon request, and there’s also ample off-road parking next to the cottage.

Snowdonia National Park makes the perfect backdrop for your Welsh holiday. Explore Tomen y Mur, a Roman military settlement that overlooks the village of Trawsfynydd, or take in the beauty of Llyn Trawsfynydd, a fishing mecca featured in the blockbuster film First Knight.

Nearby Snowdon, at 1,085 metres, is the highest mountain in Wales and houses Zip World, with the world’s fastest zip wire. Spend time along the Welsh coast, less than an hour away, or visit Portmeirion Italianate Village, then return to this idyllic rural cottage and relax for the next day’s adventures.

A very relaxed environment.

The cottage was in a fabulous location, with easy distances to most attractions. The cottage itself was very clean and a very comfortable place to stay; all the facilities you required. My friends and I felt there was no need to install an internet connection, a holiday for us is relaxing and sight-seeing. I say this because a comment left in the guest book stated it would be a better place if there was an internet connection. There are plenty of holiday lets in North Wales area that advertise an internet connection - so do not choose a let that has no interent. I think that is an unfair expense to put on the owners.
I would recommend Sykes Holiday Cottages to all. The whole service was faultless.

A fantastic Break

A lovely cottage in a beautiful part of the country, the open fire gives the cottage a homely feel (wood provided) and facilities are excellent. A selection of board games, films and CD's are also available. Contrary to a previous comment, parking was never a problem. Would definately recommend.

Stay here and enjoy your time in north Wales.

Great cottage, great location!

A lovely welcoming cottage with everything you could possibly need for a carefree, relaxing holiday. The village shop almost next door, friendly locals and situated as it is means you can easily explore north, east, south and west. Can definitely recommend it.
Just one tip: if you don't get back to the cottage before the locals get back from work in the evening the parking spaces in the off road bay can be full.

The cottage Bodalaw in Trawsfynydd made an excellent base for us. We all really liked the cottage - quite apart from being comfortable and well-equipped, it felt like a house you could live in, and not just one that had been set up as a holiday house.
