Gardeners Cottage

Peacocks strut in the gorgeous grounds of the 100-year old converted coach house which lies close to the Llyn Peninsula coast in North Wales. Gardeners Cottage sits on Talhenbont Hall, near Criccieth and offers groups and their pets, peace and tranquillity in a character-laden family cottage.

Encased within the stone walls are two twin rooms and a double room, which is accessed via one of the twin rooms. One bathroom contains a bath and shower over while a second room on the ground floor contains a basin and WC. The well-equipped kitchen caters for large group meals before a day on the beach and connects to a spacious dining area.

Guests can relax to the sound of crackling fire as they enjoy the open fire in the sitting room, which also houses a TV with Free-view and DVD. Guests can also relax on the sun lounge.

Central heating ensures year-round comfort in the large cottage, and guests are also provided with amenities for young children, off-road parking, WiFi and laundry facilities.

It is possible, and plausible, to spend an entire holiday on the property. The majestic gardens, which are ruled over by the peacocks, include a pond, all-weather tennis courts, a Quackery and outdoor lawn chess for the adults.

A well-behaved dog has plenty of space to run free. Within the gardens, there is also a furnished courtyard with BBQ, and fishing is included in the rent.

Should guests drag themselves away from Talhenbont Hall, they will discover the delights of the Snowdonia region, including the Dragon Raiders activity park, beautiful beaches, Segway and the Bear Grylls survival academy.

A fairytale week away with the dogs

Having booked at short notice, we were made most welcome by Gill when we arrived at this truly fabulous residence. Set in 70 acres of manicured gardens, river, lake and woodland, it has spectacular views and amazing walks through the woods which have some really quirky and funny twists and turns.
We were made to feel like part of the family and had many happy times sharing a joke, a drink and a chat with Gill, Paul, Gabriel, Brian and some of the other guests.
It is a truly fabulous place to stay and a great base to visit Cricket, Nefyn and Porthmadog with Black rock sands.

Superb

Booked a week here and was not disappointed, beautiful approach, grounds and hall.
When we got to the cottage it is set in a courtyard with easy access and parking.
For peace and quiet it could not be beaten (but be expected to be woken by the Peacocks!).
Lovely and clean inside, well equipped and the gift of wine, eggs and biscuits was really appreciated.
Lovely walks through the extensive grounds the walk along the river is a delight
Had a wonderful week and hope to return soon

Wonderful relaxing week

Gardeners Cottage is situated next to the hall, on the 100 acre estate surrounded by wonderful gardens, woodland and river walks. The Quackery is very interesting and we were joined by the peacocks at breakfast time.Well situated for day visits to , Snowdonia and the North Wales beaches and Castles, we had a wonderful relaxing holiday in a well maintained and clean cottage

The setting was incredible, Mr. & Mrs. Good were very welcoming

Mr Robinson

The setting: amazing place, you have to see it to believe it. Really peaceful, unusual and beautiful. The use of the tennis court - we played almost every day. Having a built in BBQ outside on the patio was good too. It was cold enough on the Sunday to light the log fire in the lounge - a real novelty that made it memorable.

Mrs Chrystal

Very relaxed. Owner and staff very friendly and did an enormous amount to make sure we were at home. House just right to fill with small children. Birds, animals and gardens loved by all of us. Keen to return.

Mrs Williams

The estate setting was quite unique and very pleasant.

Talhenbont Hall was a wonderful place for a family holiday. The grounds, birds and play area were great for the kids and enabled them to freely play and have fun. The grounds are really good for adults too and it is great to stay somewhere that was a destination in itself. The owners were really helpful too.

Mr Maynard

The grounds are absolutely fabulous, and the cottage is great.

Mr Allinson

The general environment was excellent.

Dr Walkley

Excellent holiday home for my grandchildren - the owners took our 7 year old to help feed the ducks and birds etc - he loved this and was rewarded with eggs. Good tennis court, and lovely grounds for the children.

Mrs Tidbury

Mr Gosling

Lovely location and lots of room in the cottage. It was good to have the freedom to explore the grounds, quiet and undisturbed. The owner was very friendly.

Mr Tooke

One week was not sufficient to explore this beautiful estate - a glorious place to visit for a dog owner with access to all areas. 'Meg' had the time of her life and so did we. Can't wait to return!

Miss Lees

The grounds were absolutely fantastic, totally unexpected and really made the stay. The owners were very welcoming and relaxed

Mrs Cohen

The proprietors bent over backwards to help us! On our arrival we had problems with the car and the owner came to collect us and settled us in to Gardeners Cottage. The next day the owners couldn't do enough to help us, they went out of their way to take us to the nearby town, helped with phone calls to sort out car, and much much more! They were absolutely fantastic, and we would recommend anyone and everyone to go try it out!

Mrs Coulson

Great for kids, we had a fantastic time. The owners were friendly and accommodating.
