Larchfield Chalet 1
Sleeps 6

Larchfield Chalet 1

With far-reaching rural views over the Northern Highlands and the village of Strathpeffer, Larchfield Chalet 1 has so much to offer a family.

With three bedrooms and one bath, a family of up to six can rest comfortably here and plan each day’s adventure. The beautiful and quaint kitchen opens right up into the sitting room where many a family has enjoyed those precious moments together. Each room is bright yet welcoming, and they are all well-equipped to meet your needs. One step onto the furnished veranda and you’ll think you’ve jumped into a postcard. The views here are simply unmatched!

Fewer than two miles away is Strathpeffer where you will find entertainment of all varieties. You can have a spa day, go to the Highland Museum of Childhood, or even attend a concert at the Spa Pavillion. The Victorian railway station has been beautifully re-purposed to house shops for craft workers and the aforementioned museum. A challenging golf course is available for those intrepid few who would like to test their skill. From Strathpeffer, you can venture to the hill fort at Knockfarrel where ancient Picts resided in the 10th century. It’s a very unique slice of history.

Your chalet will serve as a perfect place to go exploring the Black Isle coastal villages, summit the Glen Affric mountains, and generally explore the vast magnificence of the Scottish Highlands. Just 5 miles away is the town of Dingwall where many more attractions await, not the least of which is Dingwall Castle.

The Larchfield Chalets are a welcome alternative to traditional Scottish cottages, and they have something for the whole family to enjoy year-round. Plan your next holiday here!

good location, friendly and pet friendly

The owners were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Our cottage was the larger of two alpine style chalet buildings which are have a hillside location. The cottage was warm and comfortable for four of us and two dogs. Two of us are young fit people who could climb the loft ladder for access to the upstairs bedroom without difficulty. The cottage would be OK for up to five people. It is close to Strathpeffer with easy access to main routes. There are good walks for folks and dogs around Strathpeffer including excellent woodland and hill walks.

Lovely chalet in a beautiful location

I visited the chalet along with my parents, cousin and dog. Views from the chalet are stunning and the chalet itself is immaculate, welcoming and well equipped. The owners are very friendly and helpful. There are so many places to visit from this base.

We will certainly be going back.

Hidden cottage

Difficult to find, but when we did find it, it was well worth it! The cottage
was very well equipped, and had some nice treats waiting for us on arrival ,
It was clean and warm if the weather had been better we might have enjoyed
The balcony a bit more! Spectacular views, welcoming house holder, nothing to
Criticize, only praise! An enjoyable 3 days.

peaceful country retreat

This is a well equipped chalet with nice views and very welcoming hosts. It is well located for visiting the Highlands if you don't fancy moving around to a different B&B every few days. Do not even attempt to find it on your own the first time, phone Alan the owner and he is happy to come and guide you from Strathpeffer.

Just great

An excellent holiday chalet: very comfortable, great location, wonderful views.
The only problem - not a big one - is that the directions to the property were unhelpful (unlike the owners who came to meet us and show us the way)

Good Base

This was a good base for all the activities which we had planned to do on our holiday. On the whole the property was good but a few niggly points for me, there was not enough space around the table for 6 people only 4, there was no family size freezer, and if you are not cooking or eating out (which the owner commented to me on arrival) why is there a dishwasher . Owners would be better off advertising the property as 4 and not 6.
