cosy lodge

I found this little lodge really cosy, well stocked with everything you would need. The owner was extremely helpful and welcoming - there was even a bottle of wine and chocolates waiting when I arrived - a nice touch. The lodge is in a good location and is lovely and peaceful, my only gripe was Strathpeffer itself - it seemed to be shut all the time - shops close at lunchtime when a lot of people want to shop but that didn't really detract from my stay that much as I had the car and travelled about. I would certainly recommend the lodge.

cosy chalet

The chalet was so well equipped and was lovely and warm. Mr and Mrs Ross were a lovely couple and we even got a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates on arrival. Would definitely return again just loved it.

Just what I needed

Have you ever wanted to get off the grid? - then this is for you. a wonderful quiet chalet in the heart of Ross-shire, with outstanding features. Great comfortable and everything I needed. excellent quality fixtures and fittings. Magnificent welcome, and relaxed environment.

The Chalet has a great view out to Strathpeffer and the fresh air was great. would go back again in a heartbeat, and could quite happily have stayed for a month.

Really well heated, insulated, nice little features like a welcome pack of wine and chocolates, heated mattress and homely features, would stay here over a hotel any day of the week and twice on Sunday. 12 out of 10.

The owners are two of the friendliest and most cheerful people you could wish to meet. They keep the property immaculate, with every little detail considered and it was a real home away from home. It has stunning views and is set in a peaceful and relaxing location. We would certainly recommend the property to family and friends and are already considering revisiting sometime in the future.

Mr Alexander

Seclusion and peacefulness. Scotland is a great holiday location, no traffic jams or queues just stunning locations and friendly people. Will certainly revisit.

Mr Ford

Had a very good time. Will be back
next year or year after!

Mr Riach

The view from the veranda was outstanding and the air was crystal clear both day and at night under the stars. We had three beautiful days of sunshine and blue skies with sparkly frost in the mornings and the wonderful autumnal colours all around. The owners were so friendly. We will certainly consider doing the same again but next time for a longer period. The owners left a bottle of wine and chocolates for our arrival which I thought was a really lovely touch as it was a special birthday for me. Altogether a memorable long weekend.

Mrs McIntosh

Mrs Trafford

Owners were extremely pleasant and helpful; left wine, chocolates and sweets for kids. We had great weather but is plenty to do and see round about if the weather isn't so good. Beautiful scenery.

It's position was very central for touring. The proprietors were very helpful and friendly and left wine and chocolates for arrival which was a nice touch. The place was spotless and there was everything you might need including towels for the dog!

Mrs Plastow

Owners were friendly and very helpful with questions about the area. No problems with the accommodation whatsoever. Ideal for us as we have two Labradors. Hassle free relaxing time away from home. Not often that we get time off together and we would go back tomorrow if we could.

Mr Johnstone

The peace and quiet. The views were lovely especially after the snowfall. Great for our dog, she loved the walks. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely break.

Mrs Kopczyk

It was a lovely setting - very quiet and peaceful.

Mrs Thomson

I loved the secluded location of the property and also the height that it sat within the Strathpeffer Valley - the views were gorgeous! I loved that although quiet and secluded we were close for driving to Dingwall, Inverness and Cromarty - not to mention close to attractions such as The Black Isle Brewery and the Black Isle Wildlife and Country Park - making it a truly brilliant location all round! And finally, what made the holiday for us was the welcome that we received from the owners with a bottle of wine and chocolates - a lovely welcome to their gorgeous cottage. They were very helpful when we asked for anything and provided a highchair, cot and utensils for my baby daughter. Absolutely amazing!

Miss Cartwright

Mrs Heath

The couple who own this property have thought of everything; they go beyond a level of excellence. The chalet was a home from home with a relaxing ambiance.

Mrs Bruce

Magical with breathtaking views, just perfect for our weekend.

Our experience at Strathpeffer was wonderful. We wanted to do some exploring and follow the Pictish trail. We did all of that and much more. The early winter in mid November gave us sunshine and sparkling frost every day and was just beautiful. We met the friendly, welcoming Ross family as well as Caruso, the Highland Bull and his lovely family. I work as an artist and now have many sketches and photographs to work with from this beautiful area. It is central for exploring around northern Scotland from Ulapool to Dunrobin Castle and beyond. The Scottish Victorian village of Strathpeffer with it's interesting history is also worth coming back to see again in the season when it's visitor attractions will be open. We will certainly be returning to this peaceful retreat in the Highlands.

Fantastic for views, situation and weather!

Owners were very welcoming - leaving wine for the asdults and sweets for the children. The chalet was exceptionally clean and very comfortable with tremendous views looking down into the village of Strathpeffer. We were very lucky with the weather and made the most of the outside furniture and the balcony. Ideal for touring The Black Isle, we also went across to Ullapool and down to Landmark at Carrbridge.Plenty to see and do in fair weather and Inverness on the doorstep to explore if rainy.
