Rose cottage is one of our four self-catering cottages, situated around a flat, level courtyard, surrounded by the beautiful countryside and downlands of the rural south-west Isle of Wight. Located in a peaceful hamlet with easy access to surrounding villages and towns, Rose cottage is a spacious, very well-equipped cottage offering all home comforts.
The cottage is ground floor disabled accessible, with one double bedroom offering an ensuite wet room. Upstairs are two generously sized bedrooms, each sleeping up to three people and a further bathroom.
Our cottages were converted thirteen years ago from farm buildings and retain the rustic charm and tranquility of a bygone era, whilst more than meeting all the holiday maker's needs. Rose cottage has stunning internal features and is light, airy and homely. All of the rooms are generously proportioned with a very large kitchen/diner. The kitchen is well-equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave and fully electric double oven and hob, as well as a vast assortment of cooking utensils.
The ground floor bedoom has a king size electric bed, whilst upstairs both rooms can be set up either as a super king double plus single, or as three singles. We are more than happy to accept dogs at a charge of £20 per cottage. We also have cots (bedding not included) and highchairs for our younger guests, available to loan at no extra charge. For our disabled guests we have a variety of items to loan at no charge, such as shower chairs, toilet seat raisers or perching stools.
Rose cottage has plenty of parking space for up to 3-cars, and its own patio area. It shares a garden with our two smaller cottages, where a hot tub is located, available for guests to use. Guests are also welcome to use one of the farm's fields to walk their dogs or for children to play.
Close to Atherfield Green, are the villages of Chale, Shorwell and Brighstone. All of these villages have pretty thatched cottages and ancient churches as well as pubs and a village shop. Chale, which is closest, also has a cafe and deli located within its shop and a large family-friendly pub. This is approximately one mile from Atherfield Green. Our cottages are accessed via a single track road and are surrounded by an intricate network of footpaths, bridleways and cycle tracks - indeed the yearly Island Randonee cycle event passes the end of the driveway!
Atherfield Green is the ideal location for guests who are looking for the peace and tranquility of the countryside but easy access to amenities and places of interest.
