Sandwich is one of the ancient and historic Cinque Ports and is situated near Dover on the south coast in the county of Kent. As well as all the history references there are plenty of warm and friendly pubs and restaurants, which you are more than encouraged to venture into. Enjoy The Salutation Gardens created by Edwin Lutchyens and Gertrude Jekyll have recently been restored to their former glory, or take to the river on the River Bus which offers a trip along the Stour to the Roman Fort at Richborough.

Festivals and sports tournaments are a regular community event in Sandwich with festivals such as a medieval theme and an annual Golf Open on its famous Royal St Georges championship golf course. With all the medieval attributes left intact for everyone to enjoy and experience, Sandwich really feels like one of a kind; it surely would be a shame to skip it.
